What Anne said was no different than what Jonah said.

Question #1: Do you contend that there is no ethical distinction whatsoever between Jonah warning Nineveh of God's impending judgment (leaving their response thereunto in their own hands), and Ann Coulter's advocacy of forced conversion?

Question #2: Do you contend that God specifically told Ann Coulter what to say, as He told Jonah?

Conversion by the Sword:
1.) Is unBiblical; and
2.) Doesn't work.

"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life... And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father." -- John 6: 63, 65 KJV

I contend that the Bible says an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, that Anne in her educated observance of events and the cultural divide that we stand upon presents a problem that the Muslims have worked out quite well in their minds...and that the only response they will understand is the same one they threw in our faces: convert, or die.

However, being the enlightened person that I am, and the Christian I was brought up to be, I do not for one second believe that faith in God comes under the duress of the sword. But that the tactics that the Muslims be employed be used against them. What Anne said was no different than Jonah saying we should invade Africa and colonize it. If America is going to spend its resources becoming involved in a conflict or economic endeavor, then TOTAL immersion should take place.

Your references from the Bible do not stand in this situation. And using Bible reference to beat up MY particular beliefs is a kind of jihad I find offensive.

There is actually one instance of conversion by the sword which apparently took.
In 878, King Alfred the Great, along with his Anglo-Saxon allies, successfully attacked the viking plunderers (read terrorists) and, after capturing their leaders caused them to be baptized and swear fealty to God.
The vanquished kings and their people actually sought and recieved instruction in the faith and lived accordingly.
Of course, in previous eras, one took oaths seriously, and followed whatever religion your leader or family head prescribed for you, an idea that is foreign to most today.
