Where do you get this idea that you stop fighting just because you won the first battle of a war? You stop fighting after you won the first battle of a war if you have already determined (as the United States did) that it will be the only battle of the war.

Can you fly one of these while eating a PB & J?

"Can you fly one of these while eating a PB & J?"
I am enlisted, the officers (Lt. Capt., Majors etc.) do all the flying..
One time almost 20 years ago I did have to guard an A-10 Warthog during a Cold War exercise in Alaska. That consisted of walking around the A-10 while carrying an M-16, the nickname for it is called "Counting the Rivets"...

Oops, silly me, yeah we (USAF) have some, ahem, large officers that can fly eating jelly donuts, but not A-10s, more like 141s, 130s, 135s....

You have mistaken a retreating army with a surrendering army.
If I have any sympathy for anyone, I'll save it for the Kuwaitis and our veterans who died.
To: gridlock
Beautiful pic grid...thanks!
To: lormand
Thanks for the pics, buddy! Made my morning even better.
To: Shooter 2.5
No reason to have any sympathy for the Kuwaitis. Most of the stories about how they were treated by Iraq turned out to be absolutely false, and all of the military-age men fled the country and spent many long, agonizing months in exile, enjoying the night life in London or Cairo while the U.S. did the dirty work.
There was no difference between a retreating army and a surrendering army, since the U.S. had no intention of chasing them all the way back to Baghdad.
To: Alberta's Child
Waking up in the morning and finding out your country is invaded is always a good excuse to make vacation plans. I'm sure glad to hear that very single Kuwaiti wasn't hurt, wounded or killed and was enjoying the London nightlife.< sarcasm >
