Michael Medved Blames Islam
Michael Medved talkshow (radio) | now 01 Oct 2001 | Michael Medved Show (radio)

"Not all religions are the same. They're not all good."

"Christianity [is good and] should be contrasted with Islam and its impact."

"On what basis could you justify suicide mass killing everywhere."

He claims it's justified in Islam (by Bin Ladin) because the US is seen as a warzone, just as bombings in Israel are justified by Islamics, even those who condemn the WTC attacks because Israel is a warzone.

I'm glad we're an ally of Israel's -- but whether we should do Israel's fighting for Israel is another question. America's interests should come first. That's certainly the way Israel (understandably) looks at things: It puts its own interests first; I don't remember Israel sending troops to fight alongside ours in Vietnam, nor would I have expected them to.

I despise America-haters and evil-doers...and we're not the only freedom lovers under seige... RANCHI, India (Reuters) - A policeman was burned alive and five of his colleagues wounded by leftist extremists who attacked a police post in India's eastern state of Jharkand, police said on Sunday.

Medved sounds like he's advocating a final solution to the Muslim problem, doesn't it?

Eek.

Although most religious people are not terrorists, most terrorists are religious.

You really need to study up on the great terror purges of the Soviet Union circa 1920-1960, Mao's Cultural Revolutions, Pol Pot's killing fields, and Castro's anti-religion human meat grinder. Don't forget the Shining Path in Peru, or even Hitler's Gestapo-terror.

Your assertion is that of a poorly read dunce.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but by far the most successful and brutal terrorists and blood-stained murderers in recorded history were atheists--and they despised Christianity most of all.

Maybe they're waiting for us to do that for them. If Christians engaged in such acts in the name of Christ, would we expect the Christian Churches to root out (apprehend and punish) the perpetrators? Seems to me the leaders of Islamic nations have condemned the terrorists, and our government and other legitimate governments are working on the problem.

Among Moslems there are obviously those who would like to see more westerners (and Jews) killed, and among Christians there seem to be many who want to see Moslems killed(and, traditionally, also jews). It seems to me, however, that the middle east fanatics hate our government, not the Christian religion. I'm sorry to say I seem to be hearing many Christians (and maybe some Jews) who are promoting religious war against Moslems, basing their promotion on their versions of "hermeneutics" and "exigesis" with regard to Islamic and Judeo-Christian literature. As if hermeneutics and exigesis ever resolved the multitudinous disagreements among scriptual scholars within or between faiths. Not likely. So get frothed up to kill for your particular prejudice if you wish, but don't be surprized if many of us Christians don't join your crusade, and many Moslems don't join the terrorists' jihad.

Yes, and that's exactly my point. Christians are always quick and vigorous in exposing cults and heresies done in name of Christ. So are Hindus for their faith and the Shin-to (sp?) in Japan.

Muslims have had decades now to root out this heresy in their midst but they have been silent and have done nothing to either expose it or fight against it. I find this highly disturbing. I see a great deal of lip service given to "disapproval" of this action, and then I see a lot of whining about Muslims being asked extra questions on airplanes. Then I see many Muslims dancing in the streets celebrating the deaths of thousands.

Maybe most Muslims are really peace loving people, but has anyone else noticed how the Militant Fundamentalists in Muslim ran countries can force the whole country to dance to their tune. I believe that if we have to attack a Muslim country in our war on terrorism that all Muslims, Fundamentalist or not will turn on us. If that is the case we are at war with Islam and will have to battle the whole bunch to destroy the terrorists.

Politically correct is a sweet little concept, but it just may turn out to be our greatest enemy in this war for survival.
