Feiglin kept saying that this war could be one without killing anyone. Do you have any idea why he kept saying that?
He seems to believe that destroying Islamic holy sites would cause Islam to collapse and disappear. With such allies we'll never lack enemies.
My limited understanding of these cultures causes me to believe that historically they buckle under to demonstrations of implacable and ruthless strength.
My hope is that the US will follow through with sufficient strength to do the job.
Our weakness is our compassion. Our strength is our compassion.
The radicals see our compassion as weakness. We tend to see compassion as strength.
We must now communicate in their "language" and send a message of absolute strength.
I regret that for whatever reason or reasons the US did not already make a shocking and powerful nuclear statement to cow these populations into supressed hatred and fear.
The growing wealth and superiority of Western culture will eventually seduce the children of these radicals in the same way that the children of the Japanese kamakazi pilots now are a part of Western civilization. This is the true writing on the wall for the radical elements of these cultures and they are acutely aware of it. This is the primary reason they hate us. Envy will turn to greed and they will inevitable embrace our way of life and abandon their primitive thinking. Given enough time I think this is certain to happen.
But to get there I believe an implacable demonstration of violent strength will be necessary first. Perhaps there is some other way that this situation can be controlled for the short term.
But I doubt it.
