As a matter of fact, yes he can do systems maintenence. Can that be done over comptuter lines? Perhaps he could low ball a contract?
You mentioned that he's 36 and 38 trained.
If he doesn't know the AS/400, he needs to learn it. It's an easy follow-on from the two products he knows, but the S/36 has been an obsolete product for 15 years.
