This is very disturbing. The cry went up "Remember the Alamo". The more graphic the pictures, the more the cry "Remember the World Trade Center" will mean. It's almost as if the process to make us forget has already begun.

I have a different take on this. Now that a large amount of rubble has been cleared away, perhaps GAWKERS are feared flocking to the site as if it were a local tourist attraction. Traffic is horrendous, and they really don't need ridiculous tourists, NOR DO THEY NEED trash magazines sporting front page body parts to our enemies to cheer over.

I disagree with your argument that we are being coaxed into dis-remembering 9-11. I DO think that GW is walking a tight rope and trying to lead us to follow. The government is obviously doing everything it can to:
a)return the U.S. to relative normalcy.
b)keep the markets from crashing.
c)prosecute a new type of warfare, despite our military's lack of prep for this re-invention of the wheel.
c)maintain a semblance of civil liberties and protect Americans of M.E. extraction from angry lynch mobs.

Yes, there is "control" over the flow of info right now, and while I have reservations about that, I can see why it is necessary during a national emergency.
