While terrorists plotted, CIA officers were making "diversity quilts"
washington times editorial ^ | Sep 25, 01 | Wash Times Editorial

Posted on 09/25/2001 3:32:32 PM PDT by laureldrive

From today's Wash Times editorial questioning the fitness of CIA chief George Tenet, this dismaying report on PC run riot in the agency that failed to protect us from the WTC atrocity:

"J. Michael Waller reports in this week's Insight Magazine that, 'A current CIA manager [says] that intelligence professionals are forced to attend sensitivity-training classes and do role-playing skits to conform to politically correct social themes.' Another CIAofficial complains of spending 'countless thousands of hours' making 'politically correct diversity quilts.' "

It is perfectly realistic. That crap was starting to creep into the training schedules when I retired from the Army. It was also rampant in the government agency I later took employment with.

I would add that the free enterprise system is threatened by a convergence of at least 3 insidious programs: diversity training, sexual harassment training, and conflict resolution training. The Corp. HR depts are now loaded with politically correct leftwing wannabees. In the outfit I work for, while our sales slipped and profit dropped, nearly all employees were herded through the above nonsense programs including roll playing etc. The goal was to create worker droids who never contest a company policy even if its wrong, while being obsessed with not offending the female gender, and singing the diversity nonsense. Only in America can this happen!

Seriously the answer is to privatize the CIA. I mean a government agency that has billions of taxpayer dollars at its disposal can't even IDENTIFY threats against this country? C'mon now. That's the only way I can see getting rid of the PC suits and incompetents who have run our intelligence service to the ground. The CIA's making diversity quilts is just what you have when there's no accountability and there is no accountability when George Tenet is STILL on the job even though he was asleep when the attacks on New York and Washington D.C happened on his WATCH. After reading this report I know why our enemies aren't afraid of America: the CIA is really a bunch of old ladies in sneakers spending their days knitting and dozing off in front of the fireplace. No wonder the agency gets no respect.

"We do it by continually exposing the idiocy. Look at how people are finally reconsidering "racial profiling". If all 19 of the terriorists were Arabs/Moslems does it make sense to look at female WASPS? We've got to take every opportunity to refute this multi-cultural garbage."

A Lawyer on Fox news last night, said the same thing.
It makes sence to check out every Middle Eastern person entering an airpalane, because the facts dictate that they are the only ones who are willing to kill themselves while killing others.
To do anything less is a risk to thousands of American citizens.
Sure, they might feel bad about getting frisked, but its better than another 7000 inocent citizens getting kill. At least they can live another day.
The stakes are too high to do anything less.
I would demand that 100 % Middle Easteners are checked out before entering a plane.

You posted, "Your qualifications leave me out. I see no reason to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. If I can't get there, without an airdrop, it isn't worth going in the first place.:-)"

Apparently a lot of PC agents have decided on a new career as this minqual is being reinstated! They can go quilt some place besides the Farm!

I don't have the article link but Clinton replaced the entire top echelon at the CIA and the FBI with his people - many of them female - many of them loyal to Hillary. They should be cleaned out every single one!

"A current CIAmanager [says] that intelligence professionals are forced to attend sensitivity-training classes and do role-playing skits to conform to politically correct social themes."

This doesn't seem at all realistic to me, although I don't deny that it sounds like Tenet was sleeping on the job.

The diversity classes and quilts is dead true.

I have first-hand knowledge of this. I can hardly express how pleased I am that this thing is finally coming out!

Pieces of fabric were distributed to CIA employees on which they were instructed to sew, draw or glue art, photographs and slogans reflecting “diversity” themes dictated during mandatory sensitivity seminars.

“Can you imagine being a manager and having your staff say, ‘Sorry, I need to take off an hour to work on my diversity quilt?’[says an unnamed CIA officer] It just scalds me.”

what a waste of tax dollars on their part - my grandmother makes quilts for free!

It's worse than just a waste of tax dollars. It just got 6000 people killed.

Still less is anybody asking how it came to pass that America has a planet-load of enemies. The sickening pabulum that "they hate us because we are free" is so outrageous, so banal so easily shown to be false, that I can only conclude that the multi-cultural teachings of the past 30 years have instilled a death wish in the majority of Americans.

It's OK to write headlines about "Islamic terror" or my favourite French example "God's madmen", but it's definitely out of bounds to ask why the United States is loathed by so many Arab Muslims in the Middle East. We can give the murderers a Muslim identity: we can finger the Middle East for the crime – but we may not suggest any reasons for the crime.

Why are you so eager to declare defeat? When did the forces of bureaucracy, internationalism, and corporatism come to so dominate the West that you feel we can no longer overthrow them?

It has always been like this. Do you think that in the days following the Revolution there were not Internationlists who saw America as merely a staging ground for attacks against "kings and clerics?" The tension between your virtuous republicans and the internationalist class has always been there, BelleDame. My heart is with the former, but when the entire civilization that the two sides have constructed is under assault from the outside, does it not make sense to postpone the internecine warfare?

Calling Rudy Giuliani, attention Rudy Giuliani, your country needs you. Please report to the Courtesy Desk at Langley and take charge of the operation.
