Yes...and as (The Revelation of Jesus Christ to the seven churches...SHORTLY to come to pass) was written as some form of secret or apocalyptic code to the churches who were in danger of persecution by this "beast"...it would be logical to assume that this is a man in power at the time...or shortly after the time of its writing.

My second point is addressed to my fellow Christians who support Israel demolishing the Dome of Rock and renewing the Levitical sacrifices. Have you, brother and sisters, ever read the book of Hebrews? The sacrifice of Our Lord on the Cross suppercedes all Old Testament sacrifices and makes them useless. This is not only explicitly clear in Hebrews, but it is also the universal teaching of all the Church Fathers since time immemorial. Therefore, I believe your desire to see the temple rebuilt is quite misplaced, and perhaps based on a misreading of some of the apocalyptic sections of the Bible. Misplaced indeed. Good message..

So then why has there been a shrine and a mosque there for over 1300 years if it is so unimportant? Muslims throughout history have constructed mosques over existing temples and churches whenever they gain control over an area. There are many examples of this throughout the Middle East and Asia. I believe their purpose is to abolish any other form of worship but their's.

(ironically, Yom Kippur starts at sundown tomorrow). BZZZZT! Sorry, wrong answer, thanks for playing!
I'm not Jewish, but do know enough to know that it is currently Passover. Yom Kippur is typically in October, though I think sometimes falls into early November (or is it late September?). That's why the Yom Kippur War of 1973 is sometimes referred to as the October War.

?? Your#69, Re: my #22)
Currently Impossible!
Jehovah-God will NOT permit it because the 70th week of Israel's Prophet Daniel has not begun!
Israel MUST have permission to do so by the Goys.(and they won't give it)
(Israel will NOT truly 'possess' the LAND (Eratz Yisrael) until AFTER the conclusion of 'The Times of Gentiles' (re:Daniel's Israeli Prophecy) is brought to its END by the personal intervention and Davidic/Messianic Reign of Jesus beginning a 1,000 years of fulfilled promises to the 'fathers' by God's Promises!
Jehovah is NOT 'mocked' by either Israel or the Gentiles!!!
Jehovah-God is in control, yet permits mankinds' 'folly' to be contrasted with His Wisdom!
Purpose? To rebuke unto REPENTANCE and TRUST in Saviour-Jesus!
Thanks for the 'ping'.

Israel recaptured it in 1967 and then in a show of lack of faith and lack of Biblical understanding, handed it back to the Muslims.

Probably the more foundational answer is that it's not God's time yet.
The mount has to figure in significantly in end time events. God seems to like cliff-hanger endings and lots of creative surprises that give Him Glory.
Certainly God has laid claim to that rather precious piece of real estate in behalf of His chosen ones who basically are thanks to Abraham for being such a good friend. Certainly God is well able to take possession in more overt ways any time He chooses.
I suspect He'll choose to do so in a dramatic way at some point in the not toooo distant future--certainly in our lifetimes and perhaps before too many more hours for all I know.

Who is supposed to have chronicled the details of Mohammed's death? Certainly not Mohammed!

Doesn't the Ten Commandments forbid stealing other people's properties? I am glad the Israelis are observing the law at least in this case.

Israel recaptured it in 1967 and then in a show of lack of faith and lack of Biblical understanding, handed it back to the Muslims. Or was it because a truly devout Jew will not set foot on the Temple Mount for fear of committing sacrilege by accidentally stepping where the Holy of Holies was located, the place where the Ark of the Covenant was kept and where only select Priests were allowed to go?

Care to mention a few? The Fatih Mosque of Istanbul. Built over the Church of the Apostles.
The Great Mosque of Damascus. Built over St. John the Baptist Church.
The Adina Mosque of Pandua, India. Built over a Hindu temple.

Well, no, is the short answer, for that would have been no reason to give it to the Muslims, and the secular army would have administered it, and the area near the Temple site could have been roped off with a rabbinical warning...
Furthermore, what you say obtained about 1967-82, but with every passing year since that, more and more feel they know precisely enough just where that Temple stood, as to be able to avoid treading on it, and guide leaflets were available for that purpose.
It was given back to the Muslimsd in 67 on condition they allow all persons to visit and quietly meditate or pray, but this has been violated and Muslims will certainly kill any non-Muslim who goes up there, at present.
May it be speedily reopened in our days.
