And is that so much to ask? Are you saying that government should be able to tap any phone it wants to without even having to describe the line and make a case for why that particular phone line is connected to a person reasonably suspected of a crime? A warrant must particularly describe the place or thing to be serached or seized. If it does not, it is an unreasonable search which is prohibited by the Constitution. Our Supreme Court, especially Justices Thomas and Scalia, know that and also know that our Constitutional rights are paramount.
