I'm afraid - please don't remove this post

Posted on 09/24/2001 11:11:46 AM PDT by Scythian

I am a Christian but I am still afraid, especially for my young children. I know that it is difficult to find the US in biblical prophecy, especially in the end times. Could it be that we simply don't exist? I fear that is the answer.

Maybe the beast that rises out of the sea in revelation is not the UN but Terrorism, different from the others beasts is it not? There is no way the US can protect itself from biological, chemical or nuclear weapons, we haven't the will to fight political correctness and evict our enemies.

As terrible as this sounds, I'm afraid, I mean really afraid, it's effecting my ability to concentrate and work. Forgive me for posting this.

I think your fears are well founded. We are living in a world spinning out of control, a world ruled by evil people, with dark purposes, who are the enemies of the best of what we are.

These ruling, global elite, in their attempts to control everything, engage in global planning, and in the process step on one too many toes, and they have to compensate for their gross miscaluclations.

You should be afraid. You should be afraid because no effort at al is being made to rid the USA of these vermin, to disconnect us from their 'plan'. Unless the USA defines the real enemy of America, and in a hurry, things will just get a lot worse.

There are reasons why this stuff happens. Everything is carefully planned, thought out and executed. The only thing that will catch the global aristocracy off guard is the second coming of Jesus. In the meantime, they play hames with our lives, manipulating everything under the sun to their considerable advantage, and to our detriment.

These are the people who devise strategies that cause screw ups, and then they devise another strategy to fix the screw up that screws things up even further. They are the people that play god on planet earth, and all they end up becoming is tools of the devil, placing them in comfortable positions of perpetual power, safely out of harms way, while we take the brunt of their screwed up plans, screwing everything up.

What is a screw up? Oh, a stock market collapse where WE lose and THEY win, a global military conflict where WE die and they stay safe, etc.

Who are they? People in govt, and other global planning bodies, like the CFR, and the central bankers. This is what you get when the great Christian nation, the land of the free allows devils to take the reins of power -- and most of these people do not even live in the US; they are all living in France, Amsterdam, and London.

But we do not have to go to all the trouble to get their exact addresses. All We The People have to do is tell congress to abolish the Federal; Reserve Act of 1913, forever ban from USA banking anyone who currently is, return to the constitutionally mandated system of minting money, and take the advice of George Washington and John Adams and disconnect from foreign entanglements. This means kicking the UN out of America.

The USA should cancel all gold and silver certificates with the central bankers, making them null and void, and should send a military escort to Basel and reposses the gold given to the bankers. This is the property of the USA and not the bankers. If they resist, kill them.

Then, we should go after the anti-Christ culture warriors and legislate them out of existence. If they do not like it, they can leave, and go to Afghanistan and complain about their religion, which of course means they would all be killed in the first week they arrived.

Then the USA govt must radically reduce its size, and stick to a constitutional system of taxation (which means NO income tax) to fund constitutionally mandated activities. I bet many people did not realize that in the first Administration, there were only four members in George Washingtons cabinet. Today, well, forget about it. Zillions.

The USA can be a shining light on the hill for all of the world once again, with the Lord's protection. But let me assure you, it will take a lot more than a national ID card, a phoney war against terrorism, another rate cut from the poo poo heads in Swizerland, and a fascist home land security force that will undoubtedly be abused like crazy.

What are the odds of anything happening as I have suggested? Probably ZERO. So I would say that, yeah, we have a LOT to be afraid of. But if we turn our fear into getting educated about who and what the real enemy is and then start doing something about it, who knows, maybe our EFFORTS might produce the types of results where fears fade and hope once again arise.

I am skeptical myself. The only thing that can kick start a legitimate campaign to rid the USA of its foriegn and domestic enemies would be a miracle. Consdiering how fractured the nation is, and how divided even the people on this site are concerning the above. I am not going to hold my breath.

The failure to focus on the true foriegn enemy, and the lack of will to deal with the PC domestic enemy means that the USA will deteriorate into an every man for himself kind of thing, or we will see what amounts to modern tribalism, with groups here and there trying to protect their turf. BUt in the meantime their will be the over arching central govt police state to contend with to make war with the various tribes, an agency that just got a name -- home land security.

Yep, fear makes a lot of sense to me. Buy guns, and land, and gold, and get the heck away from urban centers. That is where I think this is all headed. People caught in urban centers will be sitting ducks as things collapse. The future is DIM because of political correctness, and the fact that our leaders do not have the nuts to tell the global elite (central bankers) to blow off.

And maybe the beast the rises out of the sea, different from all the rest, is a new world coalation with the stated purpose of fighting terrorism in the name of peace.

"What time I am afraid, I will trust in God." (Psalms)
"Fear not, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age." (Jesus, as quoted in Matthew)
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love. and of a sound mind." (Paul, to Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:7)

Pray, trust in God to protect and deliver you. Don't worry about trying to find America in the prophecies. She may be the Great Whore or she may be a non-factor, but either way God will deliver us.

I wish I could say that all is going to be peachy keen and there is no need for concern. But, I can't. What I can say to You is that if You are a Christian, Christ will be with You always. If You are not, please email me if You would like to know how You can be.

I have studied Bible prophecy for many years. At best, the United States is inferred in several prophecies. At worse, she is gone or so irrelevant that she really doesn't play into matters much. Some have said she is mystery Babylon from Revelation. I disagree with that interpretation, though I can see where it comes from.

With that said, if You are a Christian, then here are some scriptures to comfort You regarding fear:
2 Timothy 1: 7- "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

Isaiah 41:13- "For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."

Proverbs 29:25- "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe"

Psalm 91 (Today's Pray for Bush Prayer Thread Scripture)
1
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2
I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
3
Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8
You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9
If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge--
10
then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
11
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12
they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14
"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15
He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

Psalms 23:4- "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."

He does not promise us we will not suffer persecution or even death. We are not subject to His wrath though, and should we be called to suffer for Him, He is faithful to give us grace as His children. He will not lay more upon us than we can bear and will always be with us- no matter what. He promised to never leave us nor forsake us.

I am a Christian but I am still afraid, especially for my young children.

So are we all. You've no reason to feel alone, or like you shouldn't feel that way.

On the other hand, what to do?

Volunteer in your neighborhood or at your church. Take a few reasonable precautions regarding home supplies that you might need. Pray. Watch entertaining TV. Have a drink.

But most of all, don't lose hope. They're going to lose, even if they strike at us again. Don't worry about things you can't control - take action on the ones you CAN control.

By the way, your feelings of fear are very normal. Many people, especially with young children, are going through this. My advice would be to pray to the Lord regarding the issue and claim the promises in His Word. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter, and He can and will bring comfort to You.

I have been thinking the same thing that you have about whether America will be at the last battle. Some teachings say that we won't be. So then you wonder if that is so, could this be the time when America loses her power. I don't know the answer to that. However, I would never have thought that we could be so vulnerable.

My kids are grown, but I am concerned about my granddaughter and that she won't have a carefree childhood and be able to grow up in a safe world. My daughter was in Tower 1 and I thought I had lost her that morning, but she escaped. I have new fears about where she is working now. But, death can come to any of us at any time, at any place and we cannot worry about everything that can possibly happen. If you are a Christian then you know that you have been born twice and you have already died to sin and have already begun living eternal life.

Joshua 1:9 Be stong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
I John 5:5 And who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
There are many verses in the first three books of Revelation that tell the rewards for the overcomers.

You believe. Good!

What exactly are you afraid of?

Are you afraid that you or your children will be killed? Read post #25 by vmatt. Christ has delivered us from the bondage of the fear of death.

Are you afraid that in an foreign-occupied America, you or your children would be punished for your faith? Remember that in such a situation, God is faithful to give more grace, as we see here:

And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles unto them, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name. (Acts 5:40-41, ASV)

Are you afraid that you or your children would lack the necessities of life? Remember:

Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:31-33 ASV)

Are you afraid that you or your children would lack the luxuries and lifestyle to which we Americans have become so accustomed? Remember:

But godliness with contentment is great gain: for we brought nothing into the world, for neither can we carry anything out; but having food and covering we shall be therewith content. (1 Timothy 6:6-8 ASV)

And finally, remember:

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39 ASV)

Having remembered the essentials, if you are still living in fear, consider two possibilities:
(1) The fear is coming from your own heart. In this case, perhaps your head believes but it is not faith in your heart. There is a difference between mental assent and heart faith, and you may be experiencing that difference. The "cure" for this condition must come from God. Ask Him for it. Keep asking until you have it.
(2) The fear is coming from outside you. Satan is a murderer. Satan is a liar. Satan is also a consummate terrorist. If you know for certain that you belong to Christ, that His blood paid for your sins, then you must take a stand (in Him) against the fear. I suggest you find a believer that understands Ephesians 6:10-20 and ask for some help.

Great. And, after giving the signs of the end times and stating that no man would know the exact day nor hour, Jesus also said,"What I say to you I say to all. Watch!".

I think you need to relax:

1) Stay away from the news and Free Republic until you feel rejuvenated. On September 11 I was shocked, on the 12th I was horrified, on the 13th and 14th I was depressed. Then I turned off the tv, stayed away from the news for a couple of days and felt considerably better.

2) Get outside and exercise. I didn't realize the therapeutic value of aerobic exercise until I got back to it after being a couch potato for 20 years.

3) Do things you enjoy: read a good novel, watch an uplifting movie, go out and have a nice dinner, whatever gives you pleasure

4) If you don't already, plan your day at work every day, with a to-do list to help you maintain your concentration

Most importantly, keep the faith...everything will be fine.

I'll share these verses with you: "First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water."

Water huh? Umm I don't think the earth formed out of water. Suggest you read a science book and get the facts.

A belief in God and a belief in science are not mutually exclusive. But if God gave you the ability to reason, I'm pretty sure he'd want you to use your noggin about reality.
