I think that those who disappeared in the 1940s might disagree that there is no point screaming about it now.
(BTW, I'm not screaming, I'm trying to calmly point out that this forum is in danger of turning into the type of statist hypocrites that we bitched about since it was created.)
I don't see us on track for disappearing people here. I believe Bush and Ashcroft (sp?) are honorable people and won't disappear people here. So far Bush has been very measured. Proof is ultimately in the pudding… The only connection between Bush and a national ID card so far is Drudge. That's pretty weak…
If Bush does do the things you worry about, I too will be very unhappy. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.
