No my friend, I write, you DO, you stand and face that which threatens freedom.
You humble us all.

Beautiful, Luis. Your essays always exude kindness, passion and optimism. This one knocked the pi*s and vinegar right out of me. I pushed down the tears and stayed wrapped in anger the past few days, but it's the little expressions of kindness, the shared touch, a look, (this essay) that smash the willful efforts to stay intellectually focused and force us to do what we need most, to mourn and heal so we can be ready for what's to come. Hugs. }^:

Luis,
As usual, your thoughts evoke strong images, the words stippling the printed pages with scenes still etched deeply in our minds; my friend, the written word is powerful, it is sometimes all.
My ancestors, like so many, came to these shores generations ago with nothing but gut and sinew to stitch together the fabric of a new land; I, we, will not give it up easily.

"This is about our way of life, our beliefs, and our future. But most of all, this is about our freedom, and about the fact that we stand in the way of the spread of a malignant, stagnant ideology throughout the Middle East and ultimately, the world. These savages hate our lifestyle, they hate us for having the temerity to be free, and they hate that we stand against everything they believe in. They hate, and that hatred was brought to fruition on a beautiful, autumn morning in New York and the District of Columbia."And they hate the God who gave this land to us. If they are not afraid of us, they should be afraid of Him!
Thank you Luis for these words from your soul...

Thank you, for the link. The poem,
"Still the Eagle Soars", is profoundly heartfelt. I couldn't read it aloud without dissolving, if my life depended on it.
I would like to see it in every newspaper in our land.
"Dedicated to those who lost their lives, their loved ones, the rescuers and our country. God Bless the United States of America." -Scott Patrick Beagin, Sr. September 17, 2001
It deserves its own thread so all the Free Republic participants have the opportunity to read it. Perhaps he will allow you to post it.
