Yeah..but here we go with identity politics. Who cares? He was a person. Do you really want to keep score of how many lesbians, homosexuals, transgendered, straight, straight but somewhat kinky, kinky but kinda straight, straight but childless, Oriential, Eurasian, Hutu, Caucasian, African, Tutsi, Arab, Eskimo or none of the above did this or that?

I'm not keeping score.. but the media has made a big deal about his grieving "husband"... No, I don't care about the particulars of a hero.. But I wouldn't even have known if his own family hadn't pointed it out.

Ya know, I was in the military early 70's. I remember somewhat with disgust in general and yet singular ambivalence towards homosexuals that existed in every unit. There was always at least one in every company.

Actually, the queers I saw in the army were career people and it was their own business; they didn't make waves, just wanted left alone.

I think they will always be in the military, like everywheres else.
