Should Homosexuals serve in the Military?
09/23/2001 | Liberty or Die

Freep this Poll on the Reagan.com site. The poll currently shows that americans want homosexuals to serve in the military. Obviously most of the people voting in this poll are either homosexuals or they have not served in the military.

well, I hope they don't stamp the dog tags with sexual perference, because Moslins have a very dim view of homosexual activities. If a homosexual soldier was captured by the muslins, I am sure he would be finished....

Actually, I think it was last week that the Pentagon suspended the policy of kicking gay servicemen and women out of the military.

The military tends to do this when we are about to begin a miiltary campaign.

They do it intentionally because some military members, who love the consistent paycheck but don't want to fight, all of a sudden claim they're "gay" to get out of the military.

Obviously most of the people voting in this poll are either homosexuals or they have not served in the military.

Either that, or they have served in the military, have seen the mass exodus of highly qualified people from the service, and would now be happy to have someone motivated and competent to do the job without regard to sexual preference.

Here, let me get you my credit card number, too, while I'm at it.

My credentials are established here, newbie. You seek to change the question.

An no, Colin Powell does not hold monopoly on military wisdom. Four-stars means little considering another
of his level was responsible for giving the black beret to every clerk and jerk in the Army.

HIV is cause for discharge. The red herring aren't biting today.

The letter of the UCMJ may say that adultery is illegal but it is a meaningless law. I was disgusted at how many men cheated on their wives everytime we went on TDY.

I usually don't do bible posts, and therefore avoid arguing with those who do, but here are some fine gems from Leviticus that I got in a humorous e-mail, thought I'd throw them out:

Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. Does this mean I can buy some Mexicans?

Also, I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

Lev. 11:10 states that eating shellfish is an abomination. Should we hunt down all the crabbers?

Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

If the homosexuals wouldn't be allowed to be active in their perverted practices in the army or face severe punishment and if they didn't get in the other soldiers' faces with a " I'm here and I'm queer" attitude, then I don't see a problem with letting homosexuals serve.

Your spam notwithstanding, the military has not had a problem with homosexuals serving.

Arguing point B does not establish point A.

Have you ever served in the military? Or have you been openly propositioned by a gay man? I have had the displeasure of having the latter happen while in the former. During Basic and A.I.T., I had the displeasure of training with a guy that was gay. He liked to try and jump into the shower with you, and liked to ogle you everywhere you went. He didn't understand the words "I'm straight, go to h#ll!" He went off into the great gay agenda lie after being told to get lost, you know- the one where they say that ALL MEN ARE ACTUALLY GAY AND DON'T ADMIT IT?

It's a sad commentary when you're sitting in a foxhole, and the guy next to you wants to be married by commonlaw with you because you've been in the same foxhole with him for four weeks straight. That is demoralizing. If the enemy wanted to use a psyop on our troops, use gays that are openly flagrant about it. That'll make morale dip down real fast. I'm not saying that all gays are like this. I've met some that were good troops and could be counted on in the middle of a dust fight. But I've met some that only wanted to stare at the rest of us. I can tell you that it isn't fun, nor funny to be the latent love interest of a man who won't get a clue. Don't ask don't tell has been used as a muzzle lately on National Guard units in my state as well, making the view of those who it elevates to 'favored and protected' status rather tilted, to say the least. "course, we can always load Rosie up into a C-5A (The Donna Reid of airplanes)and dump her off over Afghanistan. We could make use of the taliban's view on gays and pork in our favor...
Darksheare, wincing as I re-read this.

I believe they should fight. I think we should make a "crack" unit and put that unit in first to prove themselves. (pun intended...and everyone needs diversionary cannon fodder...jk) /sarcasm off

The Armed Forces are not just another part of American Society. There job is to defend America. That includes killing our enemies. It requires discipline, courage, and TRUST. Just as having women in the infantry could upset the balance of small unit tactics, and the command decision process, having openly gay or lesbian personnel would degrade our military preparedness.

What is true of the general population is not true of the military population.

Any soldier found not meeting physical requirements is discharged. Your argument
is a red herring, as are your collectivist stats.
