Here's a blast from the past "Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose"
GREAT DAYS IN HILLARY HISTORY

Hillary Celebrates Kwanzaa in Harlem

December, 1999

NEW YORK -- Swimming up stream against the currents of public opinion, undeclared and unqualified senatorial candidate Hillary Clinton celebrated Kwanzaa with her husband in New York City. The First Couple attended a Kwanzaa torch lighting service presided over by the Rev. Al Sharpton and "Puffy" Combs.

Mrs. Clinton addressed the crowd briefly saying that like many Americans, her family tree has an African branch. That is why she attended this service, and why she appeared wearing a traditional Kwanzaa sunflower headdress.

"Kwanzaa," Mrs. Clinton surmised, "in many ways reflects the values that I am trying to represent in my campaign for Senate. Values like reverence for the creator and creation, which is seen in my commitment to unlimited and unregulated abortion privileges. Values like commemoration of  past sheros like Betty Friedan and Gertrude Stein. And recommitment to New York's cultural ideals and cultural traditions as demonstrated by Chris Ofili and the Brooklyn Museum of Art."

"And Finally," Mrs. Clinton continued, "My sunflower headdress has importance because it symbolizes the rewards of collective productive labor and the celebration of the African harvest. As everyone here knows, it takes a village to celebrate Kwanzaa."
