It is such a pleasure to bump into you out here. Thank you!

"Ditto. I'm getting sick and tired of "replacement theology." The replacement theologians call the Christian (predominantly gentile) church "Israel," then - of course - want to appropriate the promises to Israel, but of course none of the judgements. And of course, America is "Babylon."

Tell me about it! Yes we have Armstrong and his insane babblings ... . Clancy is becoming some sort of a prophet for his nonfiction ramblings and on and on it goes. It never dawns on them to pray for guidance and READ the Bible for themselves.

"It is a self-centered, myopic view that believes God's dealings with man began with 20th century Christians. Not only that, but it utterly ignores the fact that the Book of Revelation is based on O.T. books like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Amos, and especially Daniel, to name a few. In fact, if you look at Daniel 12 compared to Revelation 12, they look almost like a thought-for-thought transcription!

ABSOLUTELY! Our Jewish friends can easily follow what is going on in the Old Testament. Consisitent prophecy is throughout the Bible. In fact, it'shard to miss.

"We are living in God's dispensation of GRACE, and I'm becoming increasingly convinced that during this period of GRACE, God will withold judgement until He pours it out during the Great Tribulation, which is called the time of "Jacob's Trouble" (Jeremiah.)"

Yes ... I'm just waiting for the peace declaration ... .

"The next judgement to befall mankind from God will come then, and the Final judgement will come at the "Great White Throne Judgement," at the end of the age."

Indeed! As saved individuals we will have to account.

"These attacks were the result of man's free - if evil - will towards other men. They did not come from God, and I wish so-called pastors would stop presuming to speak for God on this score. They are libeling Him. "

You are sooooo right! Well we both know that there IS a falling away from the Word of God. This too is in prophecy. If ONLY people stop being spiritually lazy, ask for guidance and READ it. Instead the response is "Changing the subject ... when pressed for some validation of this nonsense.

Truly it is a pleasure to see you. Feel free to e-mail me. I always enjoying hearing from you. I don't always catch your postings.

"They are libeling Him. "

I have would agree, if that is what the author said, but it is not. God is soveriegn, He allowed it. It got our attention, or did it?

"Now, I'm not saying prayer isn't meant for everyone at every time, but this promise is made specifically to Solomon (who had just finished building the first Temple in Jerusalem) and to the Jews over whom Solomon presided as king."

This is true. It is not specifically directed to us however is there a reason why He would respond differently to us if we did this? Ultimately this is what He desires from all of us, isn't it?

It's late here so if you reply send it to me vie e-mail also. I don't mind correction. I also take the Old Testament seriously when it comes to what pleases God. he is unchanging in nature.

It is time to examine yourself honestly, and go get some psychiatric help; I'd recommend anger management and medication.

You are doing Satan's work here, with your lack of charity and your loveless attack on God's children. I fervently pray that none of the bereaved from NYC or DC or Flight 93 read your hateful, godless, hope-destroying anti-human diatribe.

"...is there a reason why He would respond differently to us if we did this?"

Yes. Look at the context of II Chronicles 7 again:

"When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

The Lord here is telling Solomon that when HE judges the land and people, that if His people...etc.

The last outpouring of God's wrath (judgement) on mankind was at Calvary, which Christ took on the cross for all of us.

If we are indeed in the dispensation of God's grace, and the next period of God's judgement on man won't come until the Great Tribulation, then the we no longer require the Temple in which to offer sacrifices and prayers to cause God to heal that which He has not caused.

In other words, those who believe in Christ are no longer under God's judgement, and those who do not believe have already been judged. No amount of prayer by believers or non-believers will change what God has already done through Christ.

I think anyone reading this passage needs to read it in the context of God's judgement.

And if anyone can see something I'm missing here, please feel free to speak up. :)

Later...

She has her religious view and opinion which is her right. If she were quoting the Koran, many people would be protecting and supporting her right to present her faith and railing against those who mocked or ridiculed it. Obviously some religious points of view get special dispensation and a pass, because to criticize those would invite retribution from politically correct doctrine, whereas others get excoriated severely. Christianity is as real and meaningful as Islam or Judaism or any other religion is to its believers. Although I do not share this specific interpretation of recent events, many Christians apparently do. This is a matter of faith and belief, not a scientific recitation of fact.

NYC is NOT Babylon! It NEVER has been! This is just the latest theory amongst the "tossed to and fro" crowd.

Mother Teresa said that the practice of abortion would lead to nuclear war. Well, here we are; World War III. Hope it's not true, cause we kill thousands every day. Just toss the parts in the bucket there... Sort of like a WTC trouncing daily. (May God have mercy on their souls)

Hey hope, good post!

The nation needs to hear the core of this message. America needs to repent and God will forgive our nation. He has spoken the Truth; perfectly in line with Biblical teaching.

It's sad to see that the message is so plain for all who actually read and love His Word, yet so many rage against the Lord and set themselves in His throne. I can't even begin to count the number of posts here at FR that, when it is suggested that God's hand of protection for this nation has been removed in order to turn our hearts toward Him, rage that "God wouldn't do that!". So quick to beg for his love, but ignore his holy justice. The blood of 40,000,000 murdered babies cries out for His justice, yet there is little grief.

Yes, need to pray for our government leaders (for His wisdom), our pastors (to declare the whole counsel of God) and for the laborers (to declare the gospel), "...for the wheat is white for harvest".

Don't be discouraged by the flamers. Persevere.

I agree, I don't see that we disagree. I figure that I can't go wrong if I just follow what He said.

Yes, and we have been infitrated by people teaching our children that the immoral is moral, that killing is OK, and that morality is relative. If it feels good, do it. We have plenty to repent for. To be fair, try to see America today as the Jihadists see it. It would be a truly evil place in their eyes.

Another fundamentalist Christian trying to make himself look as bad as the darn fundamentalist Islamics.

Quit taking major catastrophes and trying to turn them into more money for your silly churches. I have to agree with most of the posts here. It is a perversion and pretty sick if you ask me.

As I said on another thread, if I were a christian, I would be rather embarassed, just as there are a lot of embarassed Islamics right now.

"Mother Teresa said that the practice of abortion would lead to nuclear war."

Yet if the argument is that said nuclear war would happen because of God's judgement, why would a just and loving God wait until 35 million innocents had been slaughtered? Does not God care about each and every one?

I believe He does. I also believe He will deal with this evil very soon, and He won't need nukes to do it. Nukes are man's "justice." His will be far worse. In the meantime, we are the ones He has chosen to work through to check evil.

I , personally have NOTHING to repent for. How about YOU ?

Ho. we haven't been " invaded " by people saying that immorality is moral. They were home grown, just as the raving religious zelots are. We had a duely elected president, elected TWICE, who debased his oath of office, the White House, and our culture, but I did NOT do anthing to elect him. Neither am I a Christ substitute, taking on the sins of others. During the Middle Ages, the supersticious paid a " SIN EATER " to eat food placed on a dead body, in order for the eater, to consume that persin's sin. Yes, these were Christians. I am also NOT a " sin eater ." Then, during the plague , many religious zealoys, claimong that the Black Plague was sent by GOD, to cleanse the world from sinners. They walked , naked from the waist, from town to town, country to country, fladdelating themselves , to emmilierate the isns of themselves and others.

The Black Plague was NOT sent as a punishment by GOD, and neither was the terrorists.

If every single human being in American , were a VERY religious, GOD fearing, " pure " person, the terrorists would STILL have had us in their sights. That's because they are on a JIHAD, a " Holy War " to kill everyone whjo isn't a Muslim, and turn ever country into a Fundamental Islamic nation. Women here have educations, some have jobs, and they do NOT wear one of those head to foot, all covering chadra thingies. They actually ( GASP ) talk to male clerks. They also ( GASP ) permit, nay ask a male doctor to treat them. These are what the crazies find repugnant.

The Bible was written a long time ago, and what is written therein, refferences the then known world. Babylon , is believe it or not Babylon. It isn't MANHATTAN !
