What's cable? Oh yeah. I used to get a bill for that every month. I vaguely remember lots and lots of movies I couldn't watch because I don't watch R movies, and this horrid scandal involving the White House occupant whose behavior introduced kids I was babysitting to the question, "Hey, what's oral sex?"

I watch network TV and read SALON because I think it's far more critical to see what the other side is thinking than to slouch comfortably into a chair while nodding in agreement with a point of view I already have. My motto is know thy enemy. We got into this boat in the first place because we don't pay enough attention to the adversary's reasoning. (It's fun to make fun of the pantsuit and the turbans, but I want to know what their next move is going to be.) (Move, singular?) (Yes, my prejudices are clear to me....)

That's why I listen to NPR sometimes. Either that or I have a terrible guilt complex and I think I should be punished severely.
