REVOKE STUDENT AND WORK VISAS

Posted on 09/18/2001 6:36:57 PM PDT by Ky_Patriot

The one outrage I have is the fact that the government has not spoken to Middle Easterners here in the US on student or work visas. These people are NOT citizens and are not entitled to our civil rights laws. Therefore, I'm calling on the Justice Department and the INS to revoke and expel all Arab foreign nationals holding student, work or travel visas. Ship them back and rid this country of the potential for most attacks from these assholes.

Jimmy (peanut brain ) Carter did it....

And it was later widely regarded as a useless, foolish, heartless, immoral act.

Point of Clarification... "What about people from Western Europe that're working here?"

"...revoke and expel all Arab foreign nationals holding student, work or travel visas..."

Not that I am making any assumptions on your personal affiliations, but I know a certain Fraternitiy, TKE, who also uses discernment on new recruits to keep the order in a stellar juxtaposition to other fraternities.

Liberty is what we have as citizens of this country. Security can be enhanced by making sure that people who are not citizens of this country are here for legitimate purposes. If the best way to do that includes sending them all home first I see no problem. The liberty you seem to be concerned about is not guaranteed to citizens of other countries.

It might come as a surprise to you but citizens of the US have rights not guaranteed to others. If it is necessary to inconvienience some foreign guests to guarantee our liberty we should never apologize. Unfortunately the reluctance of some to offend our "guests" has caused too many deaths.

There are reports that many of those here on student visas are not actually attending colleges. WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING?

Every time I have traveled to another country I have been kept track of while there. In Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Norway, England when I checked into a hotel my Passport was looked at and the number recorded, in some cases the hotel was obliged to hold my Passport while I was there. I was told that the police come by every day or two and check the passports of the guests. That may have been BS and the goal was to keep me from jumping ship without paying the bill, I don't know. The point is that in other countrys they keep track of your movements, in the USA, once you walk away from the Immigration Officer you have the whole country at your disposal and it is very easy to vanish here. This needs to change, every foregin national in our country needs to be kept track of. When their 90 days or 6 months is up, and they have not departed, we need to know where they are so they can be shown the door. As well as put on a black list to refuse future admission because the violated our laws by not leaving on their own.

We cannot get into discrimination based on country of origin, etc.

We most certainly can, and should. Not only that, we should be discriminating on the basis of religion. Non-citizen guests that are muslim or from a hostile country should have their visas revoked immediately. The can re-apply to enter the US after the war is over.

Those who are citizens are a completely different story. They should be afforded all the legal protections that the rest of us expect.

Kick them all out and then let them reapply to come back in. You have to figgure that most of them legaly admitted to our country were admitted during the Clinton Administration. The main effort of the immigration policy under the Clintons was to allow people to enter who would vote for them. Our security was not part of the process. We need to re-arrange our immigration, work and visit laws and then allow applicants to re-enter if they qualify. This is not unreasonable, we are at war!

I agree we need to tighten up security procedures for those coming into this country, for whatever reason. However, think of the economic and other disruption to America through following through with your plan. We need to be careful, so that we don't damage our country.

"you think security is more important than people's rights"

A reasonable balance,Hank.Reasonable, given the horrible circumstances.Of course, you would know nothing about reasonableness.Go back to being the politically correct hall monitor for Freerepublic. That is your highest and best use, apparently.

Foreign nationals who are in this country on a visa are here as guests. They are not here by right. Revoking their visa does not infringe upon their rights.

Who is it that felt that way?

After the embassy take over the potential for violence between non-citizen factions in this country was great. The move at least stopped non-citizens from turning downtown USA into a Middle East battle zone.

I do not understand the need to offer Constitutional protection to persons who make no effort to become US citizens.

Funny you bring this up. Yes, I am a proud member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. During my time, we recruited several members into our fraternity from overseas. 2 from Kuwait, and 2 from Lebanon. They were very good members. Glad we got them. In fact, the other fraternities took to calling us "Tau Kuwait Epsilon," but it didn't stick.

Hey AppyPappy, unless you're a senile old man or a small boy, you are the militia. Shall we start with you in the round up? The war was started when Oscuma bin laden declared war on the US a few years ago. It was brought into clear focus last Tuesday. Someone else made the point earlier that some of those who "look like" oscuma that live here know something. Its time for them to ante up and kick in. If they want to be part of this great thing called the United States, they need to help out.
