What to do if they turn up Osama?
I know them sailors on the USS Cole just hit the waves and need some gunnery practice. Put Osamy is a small dinghy with a couple of flatulant pics, shove em off and then offer weekend liberty for the best shooting.
It would be sporting with all the ocean swell and waves bobbing the target up and down.

I don't know, I kind of like the idea of Ben Ladin having a cell mate named Bubbles.

Of course our enemies may help remind us. I'm not convinced we're not still in peril.
My sister and I were talking yesterday, and her comment was "well, if they were going to do more than they hvae done, wouldn't they have already done it?"
My response: "Not necessarily, because their acts of terror are really their most potent weapons. I would think they would wait until WE strike a blow--particularly if such waiting gives people time to be complacent--and then retaliate with more domestic terror, just to show us that we are still helpless to stop them."
If they do, then I guess the American people will finally begin to get what Pres. Bush is saying to them: This IS going to be a long, protracted conflict, with periods where seemingly nothing is happening.
I wonder, though, if it would not be a good thing to stage some sort of "Doolittle raid." The difficulty faced by the U.S. at the outset of World War II was that there wasn't a lot they could do immediately as they geared up for war. So we staged the Doolittle raid on Tokyo mostly for propaganda value (as well as psy-ops against the enemy), to help the American people understand that we were not without fangs.

On what do you base your disdain for Kissinger? The Vietnam war? How much of that did he really handle except for the Paris peace talks?

In the same way, bin Laden is a symbol for us.You are very right, and it is important that we get him. We need his head on a pike (figuratively) to show the people we can kill our enemies.
But again, my worry is that in the minds of the American public, that signifies "game over" when in fact it probably means "game's but barely begun."

OK, what's to stop them from giving us some dead look alike? How many people have been close enough to bin Laden to tell?

We'll never accept it. The first demand is that he be tried in a third, neutral nation. An Islamic nation.
What's wrong with this picture? How in blazes can an Islam nation, be considered NEUTRAL???

Nope, pig's blood is better. Then he can't get into Paradise. TILT Game over

Smartest thing to do would be to take him alive, continue after his network through out the world, wreaking havoc and destruction. After we have made a huge mess of the land and the people's lives, chain Bin Laden to a post outside of Mecca, where he can be exposed to whatever the people want to throw at him.

With all due respect, it has been made clear that this is not a criminal matter for a civil court. I would suggest that any attorney that tries to stand in the way, be considered harbouring, aiding and abetting a war criminal and should meet the same fate. This is not a street thug caught with a few purses, this is an arm of Satan.
But, IF he were to come into the hands of the U.S., I would be very surprised he even makes it back to the states. I would love to see two guards on either side of him, both born and raised in New York who just happened to have lost a close relative in the attack. After this walking nightmare's legs buckle and he falls in a heap, we go to war.
