Nothing much. But, the German-Americans laid pretty low. There was limited support for Hitler among the Germans in the US, the Bund was not all that strong. German-Americans nostalgic for the Old Country were more likely to be Monarchists longing for Kaiser Bill -- in exile in Hollad -- than Nazis.

The anti-German hysteria was mostly during the First World War. Nebraska banned the teaching of German, sauerkraut was renamed 'victory cabbage' or some such nonsense, decent beer became hard to find. Many with German names changed them during the Great War.

31k Japanese (not sure of breakdown between citizens and non citizens) were relocated. Some were able to move on their own. Those who had nowhere else to go were put in inland camps like Manzanar. Japanese Americans on the East Coast and in the midwest were not relocated, only Japanese in HI, AK, CA, WA, OR. But those Pacific states are where the bulk of Japanese immigrants lived.

As far as the alleged racist basis of this, Chinese were *not* relocated.

~200k Germans and Italians together were interned, however all of these were enemy nationals.

A handful of people from smaller enemy nations such as Croatia and Romania were registered and monitored. Most were not because there were no Soviet-style population controls in the USA at the time -- unless these people came forward there was no finding them.
