I don't see what sick about this...it happens to be the truth. America, once the light of the world has allowed it self to become the temptation of the world. Get over it. Let's go on and work towards being the light again.

This is the "Christian" counterpart to radical Islamism.

If I ever meet one of these "America deserved it" bastards, I'll shove their tongues down their throats.

They're dancing on the graves of their dead countrymen.

What's more, they're slandering God with their ridiculous notion that this is some kind of "judgment."

Religious fundamentalism is dangerous, whatever form it takes.

The Los Angeles riots were not caused by the Rodney King verdict.
The Los Angeles riots were caused by rioters.

I agree with you, VinnyTex. This pile of sloop is an insult to Biblical wise people. It uses what I used to lable liberal tactics to give itself credibility. It's the worn out, BROADRUSH ALL and take verses taken out of context and the use of other discredible people like Nostradamus to further excite the terminally ignorant.

Why of WHY is their NO criticism of these Muslims? Since when it si right to murder people for the sake of a different government, supporting Israel and Christianity? I don't know what god these nutcakes follow but it certainly is not the Judeo Christian God.

It is quite obvious that no more mortal is perfect in ANY aspect, however up until Clinton we were anhonorable country not bombing people and asprin factories for the sport of it. CLearly this change should be obvious. Bin Laded has also had encounters with Bush Sr. to confirm that we are not the barbarians that they are.

Yes, America has its problems however these people are NOT God with many perfections of their own. Need I mention the perversion they have done to the Muslum religion? I hope not. If people want to see a much more advanced stage of moral decay, check out EUROPE. It will shock and horrify you. The U.S, looks like a bunch of Puritans compared to them.

Well so much for false self-righteous WND.

Well, America does NOT deserve this, nor its sins are the cause of this, but the chief sin of abandoning national security goals and integrating a coherent culture that would support national security, something Political Correctness has been destroying. This is even worse than abortion in itself.

America's values and culture has been up for grabs. Whoever is most violent and vile will rule America. Of course it was not going to be some neutered and vain MTV pretend violent sex creep that was going to rule America, it is going to be the terrorists and their aiders. America lays naked, the whore of Babylon, ready to be taken by whoever is most ruthless and most ready.

The best seller no one reads (well almost no one):

Lu 17:25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Making vs Letting

There is a grave difference between what God lets happen and what God makes happen.

To sum it up, when God lets distaster strike it is for all to see and repent. When God makes something happen, like Sodom and Gomorrah, it is too late for repentence.

What this preacher is trying to say (I think) is that un-righteous behaviour had led to God lifting protection to allow this to happen.

Once and for all: America is NOT Babylon. The Muslim countries are Babylon, and I have studied enough of prophetic scriptures to be sure of this information.

Each Godly nation is represented in the Bible as an animal. The United States is represented as an Eagle! England is represented as a Lion. I find this interesting in light of the fact that both of these nations have as their national symbols, the Eagle and the Lion, respectively.

However, the ungodly nations are named by the spirit which influences them. Gog and Magog are two of the most well known. They represent China and Russia.

Remember this, when Jesus taught us how to pray, He taught us the prayer in Matthew. One of the lines in the prayer is "Your will be done on earth, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN".

Now, will someone please tell me if they think God destroys buildings in heaven and kills 5000 people?? God cannot bring to earth what He does not have. There is nothing evil in heaven, therefore, God cannot bring evil to the earth.

God is not in the destroying business; God is in the restoration business. He sent Jesus to die for us, so He could restore His relationship with us.

I've tried to stay out of religion arguments on FR, but this and some of the posts in response are just appalling.

Of course, if God is all-powerful and all-knowing, then he "permitted" this to happen. But neither you nor I nor this idiot nor the posters who like this junk know why God permitted it. That's what it means to say we live by faith in a God who brought good out of the worst thing that ever happened, the crucifixion of his Son.

The problem with these people is that they want to make God's judgment for him. Something bad has happened and they really, really want it to be God finally settling scores with all the people they resent. God didn't tell them that; they are connecting the tragedy with their favorite parts of Scripture (with other parts carefully ignored) to get a result that is emotionally satisfying to them. As though God gave us the Bible so we could know when he is judging other people!

Yes, God will judge the whole earth. "But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father (Matthew 24:36). We have nothing but their say-so that it started last Tuesday.

Yes, the Bible tells of God permitting Israel to suffer in order to bring about repentance. But we have only their say-so that this is a case of the same thing. In the New Testament, "the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy" (Rev. 19:10), not obsessive ramblings about how other people are getting what's coming to them.

Here's another way the Bible talks about suffering (I think it's the one Sinkspur has referred to, only he misremembered the ailment):

As he walked along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him,"Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God's works might be revealed in him. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." John 9:1-5.

I take that to mean that the meaning of human suffering is found in the mercy of the God who heals our wounds.

Jesus also explicitly denied that the people on whom a disaster came were "worse sinners" than others. The only "message" he saw in the disaster was that everyone needs to repent, not just those people. See Luke 13:4-5.

It's hard enough to have to defend our country's honor from all the Blame America First posters on here lately. It's a bit thick to have to defend God from people who think he's a cosmic terrorist.

Call me nuts, but I believe this is a wake-up call by God to this nation to turn back to him. That does not mean I don't care for the people who are lost. That does not mean I want vengeance for the bastards who did this to us. But, it also means I see the higher scheme of things and that God allows things to happen for a reason and sometimes to get our attention. He dealt with nations coroporately in the OT and brought tragedy IN ORDER TO TRY TO SHAKE THEM OUT OF THEIR PRIDE AND TURN THEM BACK TO HIM. In Isaiah it is recorded that God says he makes "good and I CREATE CALAMITY." He does it all. He is sovereign, no matter how we can't understand it. I must bow my knee to this mystery, no matter how repugnant it sounds to my human mind. I pray that this will serve as a wake-up to repent as a nation and bring God back into our national life and to come back to him.

That said, find the bastards who murdered these innocents and kill them with such furiousness they will feel the horror that these poor people in NY and Washington did. LET'S TEACH THESE TERRORISTS AND THEIR SUPPORTIVE NATIONS A LESSON THEY WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God certainly permitted it, as He does permit all things that happen, good or evil. But whether that translates to an endorsement is a gigantic disconnect.
