Why was the Japanese internment only done to Japanese on the west coast? Why were their businesses and property taken away from them? If it was because they were Asian looking, then why weren't Koreans and Chineses interned? A lot of people have as musch trouble telling them apart as English from Germans. That revisionist BS doesn't hold water. Singling out law abiding Americans and taking away their rights of due process and equal protection is wrong.

It was probably a PANIC dummie...sometimes humans do dumb things when they are scared....besides there was an attack on the West Coast of Washington, also....that is little talked of.....by the Japanese. AND, most Japanese got their property back after the War...some did not...I KNOW BECAUSE MY In-Laws lived in a farming area populated with Japanese who went to internment camps - and they talk with disgust of what SOME people did to Japanese property, but at the same time speak of those who got their property back. WAR IS CRUEL.

Amen. I fear that more than I do terrorists.

My understanding is that the japanese living on the west coast were told to relocate. There was concern that those living near ports and bases could pass ship and troop information related to war efforts in the Pacific. Those that refused were interned. For example, we lived in Nebraska once and had neighbors whose parents had moved from San Francisco for just that reason. They were not interned.

That's the part people don't tell you about; They were asked to move from a part of the country where someone with subversive intentions could do damage. They refused.

Most of us would be happy if they just started with the ILLEGALS, and shipped THEM out.

It's a good thing we didn't worry about offending the japs in WWII!
