Fr. McAfee's homily was wonderful - very powerful. He was really able to capture Christian doctrine in life after death.
Also, there's something very comforting about a Catholic Mass in a time of crisis.

I watched the portions televised by FOX. Lovely Mass, and wonderful words from Father McAfee. "Satan" = terrorists.

May God Welcome her home and comfort her husband, family and friends.

Her death like all the others will not be in vain. Let's all buy her book - out next month in tribute to Barbara Olson titled "The Final Days" (What an eerie title)
The book is about the final days of Bill & Hillary Clinton, a behind the scenes look at the last desperate abuses of power by the Clinton White House.

May God comfort her husband whose feelings of horror and helplessness must have been far beyond what mere words can describe. May Barbara rest in peace and may the record of truth she revealed in her books add to America's understanding of the Clintons.

You look at that angel face, and think of all she has accomplished and all that she had to still do in the world, and again a human face is put on the tragic events and your heart cries. May all of our prayers and caring help her husband and family find some solace.

Justice Thomas mentioned this today. He said that he did not know her at the time and that since he has known her, she has never once mentioned her support for him during the confirmation. Barbara didn't need praise, fame or recognition. All that she wanted was to be able to express her opinion - and smile as she did it.

She was on her way to appear on "Politically Incorrect." I hate that show and never watch it, but have regularly said a prayer of gratitude for the fortitude of those conservatives who were willing to sit there to refute the smug liberal guests and the host.
I thought just going on the show was a sacrifice. Now Barbara paid with her life. We will never know if she was instrumental is saving an intended target of the White House or the Capitol. I like to think that she was.

I had just been wondering where I could write him. Thank you for posting the address.

I saw this on Fox News. It was a beautiful mass. Kudos to Fr. Franklyn McAfee for such a beautiful mass and a wonderful Homily! (He used to be MY preist before I moved to NC!) Barbara Olson was definitely a patriot, a true conservative! God bless her, may she rest in peace. Be with her family to comfort and console.

Did you see Larry King tonight? He had the nerve to pay a 'tribute' to Barbara. Who did he choose to have as his tribute panel? Hold on now (Mark, are you here?): Nancy Grace, Cynthia Alksne & - ta da - Mark Geragos! I am so ticked!!!! Nancy says they grew to be good friends. Mark said she was brilliant. Cynthia cried. She went to the funeral today. She didn't know Barbara was a ballet dancer. She didn't know Barbara liked country music.
Guess what. I knew those things. If those three hadn't been so anxious to trash any conservative with a brain as a right wing extremist, they could have learned a lot from a smart, classy woman.
Let us NEVER forget: Barbara and Ted were targeted as the big insiders in the vast right wing conspiracy through Richard Mellon Scaife and trashed by David Brock because he wasn't invited to their party.
