One reason I am glad to see this traditional discussion of Satan as evil embodied is because his best and most diabolical (couldn't resist the pun) trick of the 20th century was to convince so many people that he didn't exist.
Also, when Satan's identity is revealed, he loses power and control over people.
Absolutely correct. CS Lewis discusses this at length in The Screwtape Letters (you probably already knew that).
