I've got the flu. 102 fever and have a few friends missing (presumed dead in the WTC). That might explain my demeanor today. I apologize to you if I misinterpreted what you wrote earlier.

You are totally correct...I teach in the NYC public schools--in Brooklyn...we all saw the ash falling outside our windows on Tuesday...students thought it was snow...we returned to school on Thursday and our principal explained to the student body that we were all Americans (diversity is out) and we needed to stick together and put our trust in Bush and Guiliani (BTW she's a Democrat)...on Friday she told the assembly that our president had called for a national day of mourning and rememberance and that we should all pray for the victims and their families, the rescuers, our country, and our leaders (God is back)...most of the Democrats I've spoken to are glad that GW is in charge (algore is toast)...two black Americans in my building told me yesterday that they love Bush now and would vote Republican next time around (racial divisions go bye-bye)...Charlie Rangel who has been whining about GW's illegal presidential victory was last seen trailing behind him like a chastened puppy at Ground Zero yesterday (demagogues silenced)...the images of real men doing real physical work to protect us has replaced for at least a generation the images of the psuedo-intellectuals of the left who keep whining and whinging about trivial issues like gay rights or endangered species (heroism in the form of physical courage is making a comeback and most of the firefighters and cops are white ethnic Catholics--no more white male hatred)...even the Americans in the blue zone now realize that their butts are on the line (some wars are just)...they want strong masculine backs and shoulders to take care of business and keep them out of harms' way...those people lying in pieces in the rubble of NYC, Washington, and the woods of Pennsylvania have shed their blood in the cause of freedom and civilization...BTW I guess Reverend Al's presidential bid just flew out the window.

All Christians were once non-Christians. Your mission as a Christian is to preach the Gospel. In doing so, you will save more souls with a message of Christ's love than with one of condemnation of others for not being Christian already.

I haven't read your whole exchange; but, I'd like to offer this: Christ did all in love; but, he didn't always speak kindly in so doing. Nonetheless, many here assume that anyone disagreeing is yelling or being haughty. And though it's tough at times to do, you guys must understand that one can disagree withought shouting or otherwise being angry. Anger, however, is not a sin. A mark of a Christian is being slow to anger - not never getting angry.

I've run into this in a number of threads and it seems no one really thinks about this. Stop and breath now and then. I think this should go for anyone here. Don't assume anyone's tone. And if you question intent, ask the other party. Thank you :)

"Muslims do not believe in violence. If the culprits are Muslim, they have twisted the teachings of Islam. Whoever performed, or is behind, the terrorist attacks in the United States of America does not represent Islam. As an American Muslim, I want to express my deep sadness and anguish at the tremendous loss of life."

Unfortunately, since I am not able to post what the Koran really says about violence against Christians and Jews, I cannot refute this statement here. If you are interested in the truth, however, click here.

So Appy, are you the one with your finger on the "abuse" button every time someone tells the truth about Islam?

Or is it another of the Islamic apologists onboard here taking care of that?

Where's the Hollywood elite?

Thinking the same thing. How long did it take them to come out in response to other tragic events around the world? I think they are very quiet because they agree that America "deserved it".

AppyPappy: hmmmmmm....Jihad is not Islam. It's the fight against the people who will eventually want to destroy Islam. Christianity has the same belief (AntiChrist). Me: I've recently read some of the Koran in light of our war, and the concept of jihad is a bit more complicated than this. Contrary to some popular beliefs, jihad does not exactly mean "Holy War." And, neither does the term antichrist. That term refers to anyone who denies that the Messiah came in the flesh in the form of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, St. Paul indicates that we are to oppose such spiritual forces as an Antichrist with truth, righteousness (or justice and goodness), faith, salvation, the Word of God, and the Gospel of peace (Ephesians). He therefore also implies that we are to make Christian disciples of all nations and teach them about promoting truth, justice, goodness, faith, salvation, the Bible, peace, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To compare jihad with all this is just plain stupid. Tom Snyder www.sobran.com www.answers.org www.movieguide.org

Al Sharpton was on BET I believe on Thursday. I saw it and I will be honest and tell you that he was very, very good. He said all the right things, he encouraged everyone to stand behind the President and it was amazing to watch.

On a side note, Spielberg's currently showing "Band of Brothers" may turn out to be great. The first two episodes were very good and the reviewers unanimously say the series gets better as it goes along.

The Koran has been seen by a great many Muslims as a divine order to engage in all kinds of violent activities. I have looked at it and can understand why they would think that. Why do you conclude they are greatly misinterpreting it?

War occurs because of culture. It's not race, religion, country but culture. If in fact you are Jewish, whatever, and you espouse fascist viewpoints then it doesn't matter skin color or origin. Fascism can be seen in Timothy McVeigh and in Osama Bin Laden. I will fight against hate-mongering wherever it occurs.

People on this thread have said that saying such stuff is PC. The BASIS of our country is one of religious tolerance: that's why the Pilgrims left Europe. It was so important that the founders put it into the 1st Amendment.

I will fight against all enemies of the United States, internal or external.

Now personal: hanging on my wall is a picture of my father and his collection of medals (including the Bronze Star). His Purple Heart is for the bullet that killed him in Vietnam. Every day I live the cost of war.

I am 100% for this battle and want to take out our enemies. However, war has a terrible price and I would prefer it to be limited to those that need to die. Saying you want to go to fight with all Muslims involves a lot of death.

Is WWIII really what you want? Why don't the armchair killers on this thread state down EXACTLY what steps they would like to take. No need for theory. Give us some good tactical suggestions.
