I understand that prayer gives solace and comfort to a lot of folks who are hurting, and I respect that and would never tell someone not to pray. But prayer doesn't exactly have a good track record. Imagine the thousands of mothers who prayed for their children to be safe. Those children are now buried underneath a pile of rubble.

Common fallacy of non-believers. Blaming earthly problems on God's action or inaction. You simply must get some better material.
