I blame the Mid-East nations that told former Pres. Bush that they would pull their support should he order that the troops go into Baghdad. I believe we would have gone but without the airports and resources that we were getting from the surrounding countries, we might've lost a lot of lives and not been able to complete the job.

that would certainly be on better target. Also the US, under Clinton, and our allies lost resolve on keeping Sadam isolated and destroying weapons of mass destruction. The inspectors were run out by Saddam.
