Americans give President Bush strong marks for the way he has responded to the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, pushing his job-approval scores to the highest levels of his presidency, according to polls conducted earlier this week.

A CBS News survey of 1,041 adults, conducted Sept. 11 and 12, reported that 76 percent of Americans approved of the way that Mr. Bush has handled the government's response to the attacks. That helped raise his job-approval rating to 72 percent, the poll showed. An NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll of 618 adults showed that 80 percent approved of Mr. Bush's handling of the crisis and only 8 percent disapproved.

I agree entirely with your point @#4: The media's continuous treasonous and unpatriotic "harping on" (no holds barred crtiticism of) Bush IS NOT WORKING!!

Rather, Jennings, Brokaw, Couric, & Gumbel et al. have ALWAYS been out-of-touch with the mainstream of America.

Lets face it:

The dominant media culture is part of the HATE AMERICA 7 "BLAME AMERICA FIRST" brigade.

Bush is a proxy for America.

To be brutally frank,

it was too damn bad that three or four network outlets with leftist execs & so-called "reporters" & anchormen, were not blown up,

along with a few dozen Anti-American leftists in Hollywood &

the the Marxists in the UN, if we HAD to loose American lives.

We lost the WRONG Amercian lives altogether.

Three (out of three) of them, so far, are friends or close mutual acquaintances of mine.

This may be (slightly irrational) anger at the traitors (or near traitors) that are in the anchor desks safe and continuing their

unfettered, unimhibtited, brazen, arrogant, self-righteous, insensitive, knee-jerk (or, worse, wholly intentional)

campaign

of tearing down the President in a time of WAR.

Has anyone else noticed that the media is refraining from calling President Bush, George W. Bush and are now calling him the President or President Bush?

Popularity polls are of little consequence overall at a time such as this, but still, it's reassuring to see the American people are solidly behind the President and all the partisan naysayers and petty sniping from the likes of Peter Jennings come to practically nothing at all. Must drive the liberal TV chattering crowd crazy to see what little influence they really have in a time of crisis. Good.
Now, maybe Jennings, Couric and the other blathering idiots will get out of the way of the train of public opinion that fully supports our President. That, or get flattened.

News Flash to all TV Anchormen/Women: You are not as important as you thought you were.

I think one reason Bill Clinton is back is that the liberal news media knows Bush is getting high marks, and are desperate to counter this. Hillary was on Bryant's show this AM, and Clinton was on Fox, so the PR battle against Bush has begun in earnest.

Peter Jennings and his ilk are trying like mad to make Americans doubt Bush's leadership. They are in a panic. I have just read on here where FR people should join together and love everybody at a time like this. Bull. The day I love the newtwork news media people it will be a cold day you know where, and if I do profess to love then I hope I will be put in a straight jacket to protect myself and others.

Right after the poll information was released, our local liberal gargoyles came out in full-force singing the same tune. I am almost sure that Dem. talking points are distributed on a daily basis to these people.

One day they are all low key, the next day they are attacking Bush saying he doesn't inspire confidence, he is hiding information . . .

If the President is indeed 'hiding information' it's for a very good reason: Constitutional duty. It is his job to look after the national security of the United States, and you can't do that with a flapping mouth or quivering lower lip.

Also, suppose some of that 'information' is damaging to the Clintons and now is not the time to release it?

Slick Willy is NOT a nothing, oops, he is definitely a nothing but still will grab the media and hold it in any way he can. He is still the leader of the liberal left and is still dangerous. Just count the number of seconds his picture was placed on CNN when visiting the families (smiling at the camera and hugging the women) and compare that to the number of seconds given to GWB's genuine sorrow. I saw ONE report where a reporter asked him about the opportunity to get BinLaden at the end of 2000 and willy said that was a lie. That photo op has been pulled. Why?

There is another public opinion poll regarding Bush's handling of the situation at DealofDay.com

Do you approve of the way President Bush is handling our national crisis?

Yes, he is doing a superb job
No, I am disappointed
Could be better, could be worse
I have no opinion

Click here - poll is on right side of page

Can you spell LANDSLIDE RE-ELECTION in 2004? Patriotism and morals do mean something to the American people after all.

I guess the continuous harping on Bush by the media isn't working

Yeah and the liberal democrats are having a really bad week:

1. The military will now be getting their funding back BY POPULAR DEMAND...if you know what I mean.

2. I'm still not sure if it's true but didn't the workers at the twin tower site recover some people who where in an SUV (they're so evil and bad for us to have you know)

3. Some Democrats just can't help but criticize the president much to their own demise(ie:REP. Meehan and Neal) and

4. Dubya's polling numbers are going through the roof.

You know I just can't help but say,"I feel your pain."

Did you see Brokaw last night? He was doing the babble about how President Bush isn't well spoken like Clinton . Then he said "When President Clinton gets back.... uh, I uh mean President Bush... uh, I was just thinking about..." and then he sorted of trailed off. The news media is really losing it.

According to an ABC poll, Dubya's approval numbers went up 30 points in a few hours. They could go back down just as quickly if he doesn't do something appropriate immediately to those defiant Pakistani and Afghan *ssholes.
