I'm reminded of the reported 2,000 brave Serbian men women and children who crowded the last bridge on the Danube River to protect it from American/British bombing.
The bombing took place anyway; civilian deaths were labeled 'collateral damage'.
Do you suppose the term 'collateral damage' is being used in some parts of the world to describe the WTC carnage?
Sounds like those 2,000 brave serbs knew what was coming and made a personal choice. A real shame that our citizens weren't given the same choice.
