Ollie North was on Fox last night. According to him, congress in the past with a reccommendation from the president (I think he said John Quincy Adams) had decared war on the barbary pirates. They were the equivalent of a terriorist group. I think Bush should have declared war against all know terrorist groups. The precedent is already there for doing such.

I thought they said Lincoln. But I have seen Teddy Roosevelt mentioned too so who knows. I guess the important thing is that a precedent has been established.

Bush and the US must declare war on all known teerorist organization and their client states.
To not do so is political suicide and a sign of weakness. Screw a coalition and screw waiting for allies

I saw that same program last nite with Col. North, and he did indeed state that the precedent was already there, with declaring war on the Barbary Pirates....I think we have no choice, but to declare war on any terrorist groups and the host countries which aid and shelter them...
If we let this go on with no retaliation, we will be seen as weak, and willing to take even more terrorism...
