I like Bush. I supported him and voted for him in the election. I have his bumper sticker on my car. I donated money to his campaign. I even met him very briefly in October, but if he's going to be a pussy about this, then someone else has got to step up.

He did not pussy foot at all.

He said it was an act of war. He did not minimize it to a small group being responsible. Made specific mention, again, to them thinking they have safe harbors, but that will not be the case forever.

He is taking the steps to prepare us for a long, brutal, but decisive fight.

Er, he asked for funding, called it war and expressed appreciation for congressional unity. A declaration of war is how the authority and funding is provided by congress. I think he was using measured diplomatic words to say the same thing!

I watched Bush and I am happy he is President than someone like you. I voted for Buchanan but Bush I will stand behind. He was calm, cool and the man to have around when the chips are down.

Just a small detail...but who do you declare war against?

we are sure of who has done this

I don't think this is correct, yet. I think that we need to be methodical in our collection of clues, THEN, we unleash a fury that makes Hiroshima looks like a picnic.

Remember this is only a little over 24 hrs. after this tragedy occurred. I don't think that you should be started to question W's resolve, yet.

In a week, if nothing has happened, then I will join the chorus, but, until then, just chill out.

And what qualifications do you have to preach on National security issues? No one outside of the inner circle knows exactly what is at stake at this moment. Just suppose that the terrorists have sent a message to D.C. claiming that they have a small tactical nuke stashed away in some major metropolitan area here in the U.S. and have stated their intention to detonate if there are any reprisals? I prefer to accept the judgement of those in charge who have the information necessary to make the tough decisions.

Basically, I agree with you. I supported him, gave him money, voted for him, more than once, and I want to give him some time (24 more hrs?) to work out a response. However, if that response doesn't include A LOT of death and destruction for terrorists, and the countries that support them, up to and including FULL SCALE WAR, (EVERYTHING MEANS EVERYTHING), I will lose a lot of respect for him, and find it difficult to support him in the future.

Would you rather he had pounded on the table shouting "Nuke 'em, nuke 'em". You're forgetting the adults are back in charge. This is not as easy as a sovereign nation directly attacking us. We need to sort out the bad guys and then unleash hell. It may take some time to get them all, but I would bet Bush and Co. are planning it.

GW didn't pussy foot around. He doesn't need to say a lot. I am sure the actions he takes will say enough.

I think Bush said the right thing...

We can't declare war untill we have 100% proof of who did this.

He called it an act of war, I think he will declare war when we have the 100% proof.

I suspect that Bush is playing his cards close to his chest. I support him fully. God Bless President Bush, God Bless American.

For anyone to criticize Bush at this time undermines the unified front that should be projected by all Americans.

I say we go in to Afganistan and "KickButt". Our leader should General Hillary Rodham Clinton PATTON. To support her we should give a rifle to every member of the National Oranization of Women. Our ralling cry should be "Abortion for All".

Bush was in a meeting in the White House. Historically, when a request is made by the President for a declaration of war against an entity or country, it is done in Congress. Today was just a photo op. I sincerely doubt that we will NOT declare war.

"we are sure of who has done this"

Why do you say "we" when you don't know what I know or the CIA knows or the NSA knows or Bush knows? Suspecions, yes. Sure, certainly not yet. I am not saying we need hard proof and I'd like to see some action begin real soon. Bin Laden is already an indicted terrorist. Afghanistan had better produce him immediately or we should start, as the military says, "preparing the battlefield."

First off, watch it with the language. I take exception to the use of the P word.

Secondly, with each statement he makes, his tone becomes more and more terse and adamant. He will let his actions speak louder than words. I have every faith in him and in Congress to go get these scum.
