Tony Blair stepped to the plate. At the time he mde his statement before Parliament it was thought that 7,000 Americans perished. He asked Britains if they really thought that Osama bin Laden would not have killed 70,000 instead of 7,000. He was right.
Wow, LAPD estimates 600 gang killing each year, half which are Latino gangs giving us what .... 300 in LA alone?
That leaves 300 for the rest of the country? That's very impressive.
I'm not sure about your numbers either.
There are plenty of reasons why addressing the illegal immigration problem should be a priority. Vast numbers of murders by illegal aliens is probably not one of them. You only undermine your own credibility when you use inaccurate numbers.
See above. BTW, Hispanics are often counted as "Caucasion" for some nutty reason depending on who does the counting. I never really could figure that one out, but it's not my decision to make.
And I don't doubt your credentials as a prosecutor, but here in LA we get the daily murders suspect alert every week which at least two or three (or more) is Hispanic.
500 a year?
I doubt it. Are those numbers based just on convictions alone? If so, they might make some sense. But there is a difference between solved crimes and committed crimes.
Prior to 1986, Hispanics were classified as a distinct and separate racial group. Not anymore. The FBI and U.S. Census Bureau no longer distinguish between Hispanics (who are actually Spanish speaking Indians for the most part) and Whites; their crimes are lumped together in one ethnic pot. The 22,354,059 Hispanics living in the U.S. do not exist, at least not in the ethnic sense when it comes to the FBI compiling criminal statistics for mainstream and news organizations.
Well sure. And Tim McVeigh probably would have taken out all of Oklahoma City (300,000 or so people) if he could have.
What does that mean? That there are lots of assholes that would do as much damage as they could if they absolutely could?
I'm pretty sure we all know that.
Thank you for sharing this. And thank you for raising children of such character, through whom many will certainly be blessed.
A mere shutting off of the borders and deporation of those who are here illegally would all but eliminate the foreign threat.
I agree that this would be extremely effective. As you have written elsewhere on this thread, candidates with this stance don't make it on a national level. You would think that 9/11 would have made a majority of Americans more willing to take drastic steps to curb illegals, but instead we had a backlash of "tolerance." Liberals in Ann Arbor brought flowers and gifts to the Muslim-American schools right after 9/11 to show how loving and tolerant we are. Instead of hearing about the Americans who died, after 9/11 we almost immediately started hearing in the MSM about the imaginary threat to islamists living in the U.S. I would hate to think it will take an even bigger tragedy to wake people up.
Well, I just got my M-1 Garand in the mail yesterday, so I have to disagree with the "disarmed public"...
But thanks for the generally civil response.
Ping for future reference
Memorial Day ping from the live thread on 9-11.
Prayers for all the souls that lost their lives that day.
May they rest in peace!
This changed everything. I will talk and tell others about this until I die.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get unedited copies of that days TV broadcasts?
I was not around FR on 9-11 and found the live thread absolutely fascinating.
I don't know if there are any unedited copies of TV broadcasts. I was listening to my car radio and had to pull over since 2 of my kids were in harm's way. Fortunately all worked out okay, for us, but I would love a copy of the tape from that radio station.
Good luck and let me know if you find anything?
I have the broadcast from abc/nbc of that day. I will try to put it on putfile. Windows Movie Maker takes forever to compress 675mb to 10.
Yup. I remember that day like it was yesterday.
All the co-workers listening to radio - we produced NOTHING that day.....
Thanks for the info !

Just looking at the pictures and this thread again
brought back tears to my eyes. I can't talk, either.
