I've been asked privately in FReepmail more than a few times why I fingered bin-Laden as the prime suspect. I never completely answered because too many people are walking around in complete denial of what their government is capable of. My explanantion here is likely to raise a few hackles.

There was a subtle but noticeable increase in the discussion of bin-Laden in the few weeks before the strike. I figured they were greasing public opinion so they could assassinate the guy and the few left-wing idiots who might complain would get less traction with their whining.

The very moment that terrorism became the likely cause of the WTC tragedy, the proverbial light bulb turned on and the words, "a-ha!" escaped my lips.

I am an unapologetic believer in conspiracies within our government. There is no such thing as a major US political party that can be trusted. The cult of personality can worship Bush as the new Reagan all they want but even their hero Limbaugh admits he's far from it.

Is bin-Laden a terrorist deserving of assassination? I believed so before 9-11 and I believe so now.

But I still wonder what, if anything he had to do with 9-11? There are certain very powerful interests who needed us to accept the idea of our boys dying over there.

Well, they got what they wanted and now we've been sucked into someone else's war. When the Democrats retake the White House in 2004, don't bother to gnash your teeth about it. Bush is Schwarzenegger with a better spin machine anyway.

You are prescient and offer an interesting line of reasoning. But do you contradict yourself? After all, bin Laden and his cohorts have taken credit for 9/11.

I missed the news accounts you reference --- probably because I was preparing for a trip to Ireland (not paying attention) where I was when the towers were hit. Although I agree that there are dark forces at work in all governments, I don't know if I can agree with your assessment of Bush.
