Illinois GOP's Real Problem Isn't Money. It Doesn't Want Trump's Candidate To Win
With just over 40 days until Election Day for the midterms, the Illinois Republican Party has yet to provide a meaningful financial boost to the man carrying its banner for governor: Darren Bailey, whom President Donald Trump reaffirmed his support for this week.
"I’ve already endorsed him. I’m all for Bailey," Trump said.

The establishment prefers to lose the election and retain its power rather than the party win and they lose their personal power.
He wasn’t my pick. He didn’t win last time, but for some reason he thinks he can do it this time.
Republicans haven’t won statewide since 2014, if you count Bruce Rauner as a Republican.
I’m voting for Bailey. IDGAF anymore what anyone else thinks.
The GOP. Spit. They’d rather lose than let a Republican they didn’t want to be nominated, win. Even if it means the democrats gain power. Disgusting.
The GOP has zero chance of winning the gubernatorial election. I think it'd be perfectly reasonable if they're spending the money they have on down-ticket candidates who actually have a chance to win.
I’m going to vote for Bailey. Illinois cannot survive four more years of Pritzker. Hopefully, you will too.
Yeah. Why waste limited resources on a race you can’t possibly win when you can spend them on races you’ve actually got a shot at?
No need for your disinformation. That is not what the GOP is doing here.
The GOP hates us conservatives, the track record is very clear. They just recently tried lackluster funding for Ken Paxton, leading outside conservative groups to have to fund him instead.
oh of course Texas we can’t possibly win! *yawn*
This is a GOP vendetta. It always is. They’ll spend zillions and gafillions and bajillions to get the McConnells and Cornyn’s elected though, even if those candidates would lose.
A Republican hasn’t won the gubernatorial election in Illinois in over a decade. The GOP hasn’t won a U.S. Senate race there in more than 15 years. In all of those races since, Democrats have won with a margin of 14-16 percentage points.
I’m a lifelong resident of Illinois. Last time out, Bailey campaigned all over while JB Lardass did nothing. Election day, 5 minutes after the polls closed or a single vote was counted Pritzger was declared the winner. Chicago runs the state. Ray LaHood’s little boy, Darin is my congressman in IL16, one of only three GOP held seats out of 17. He’s done nothing but photo ops and the party seems satisfied with not having anybody oppose him. The democrat is Paul Nolley who’s been all over holding town halls and talking to people. You can count this as one of the democrat flips. Almost as bad as when Adam Kinnzinger was my congresscritter.
The only reason Rauner won is the unions were ticked off at Pat Quinn for signing pension reform legislation which got overturned for old hires.
A vote for ANY Democrat is a vote AGAINST America!
Not voting FOR a Republican is a vote AGAINST America!
Am I right?
The democrats got rid on my Congressman Rodney Davis. They moved Taylorville into the 15th district so he had to run against Mary Miller in the primary. Mary’s district was almost split in half by the 13th that now runs from Champaign to the St. Louis metroplex. Bost is from southern Illinois so I don’t know much about him. Illinois could possibly lose 1 or 2 house seats after the 2030 census.
Pritzger’s adds are nothing but lies and disinformation.
+1
its not (necessarily) TDS its total party capture by the lefties. there are no ‘real’ conservatives in positions of power in illinois
But I’ve pretty much HAD IT with the SPINELESS, BALL LESS Gang Of Pussies that pass themselves off as Republicans in this state. Bailey is a better man than Pritzger can ever be.
