A bitter GOP civil war is erupting in California’s governor race with Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco torching Republican rival Steve Hilton’s campaign as a “full-blown lie” and claiming he’s been “bought and paid for” by Democrats.
In a blistering video message Tuesday, Bianco flatly demanded Hilton quit the race as the two Republicans battle to survive California’s jungle primary system and snag a spot in November’s general election.
“Hey Steve, it’s Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, your next governor. Steve, it is time for you to drop out. Your campaign has already failed,” Bianco said.
“It failed in January. You ran out of money last month. You are now being propped up and funded by Democrats.”
The sheriff accused Democratic operatives and super PACs of quietly boosting Hilton because they see the former Fox News host as an easier opponent than the tough-talking lawman.
“Democrats and Democrat super PACs are spending a fortune running your campaign,” Bianco charged.
Bianco also revived attacks tied to reports involving Hilton’s name appearing in documents connected to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“Conveniently, one day after you were named in the Epstein files, the career political strategist went to work,” Bianco said. “You immediately started spending all your money attacking me with pay-to-play influencers, social media bots, and a dishonest smear campaign.”
The escalating feud comes after Hilton publicly urged Bianco to suspend his longshot campaign in order to consolidate Republican support behind a single candidate capable of reaching the general election.

Which one is the Rat plant?
Their only hope is to have them emerge in the top 2. Bianco needs to rise, Hilton needs to fall.
Republicans doing what they do best - attacking each other instead of Democrats.
GOP have been experts at snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory for decades.
Our family has already voted for Chad Bianco.
Isn’t Bianco the sheriff who tried to make hay by arresting a fellow who had a partial gun in his car, and the sheriff claimed he was trying to shoot Trump? He made a fool of himself and had to release the guy...IIRC...a couple of years ago.
Bianco has been trailing all the way. Disgusting.
Would NOT get my vote if I lived in Kalifornia.
If anyone drops out, should be Bianco, imo.
Bianco should act with poise, grace, and self-respect in backing away from the fray, and waiting for another day.
To hang in there just to lose?
Is to create enemies, however like-minded on politics, and to incite the indelible ire of those of whom would otherwise support and vote for him. Voters who would neither forget nor forgive Bianco's egomaniacal pursuit of electoral failure, choosing to spoil such a rare chance to take the Gov's mansion.
A future in pickleball, not politics.

Bianco is making slanderous lies his campaign tool against his fellow GOP candidate. Bianco is desperate. It tells you Steve Hilton is leading.

Hilton is a Fox News talking head. He's a slick fellow who knows how to talk a good game, but is unproven in elected office.
