I can’t tell who is or isn’t a spy, but I do know that getting into China’s universities is a touch nut to crack. The Chinese “Gao Kao” system is designed to eliminate all but the best ( or the luckiest ).

The other alternative is for those unfortunate enough not to have gotten through the tough entrance exam filter is to study abroad. In here there are advantages — good universities ( especially STEMs ) and chance to master the English language <— a DEFINITE advantge in China.

By in large the model in the US has sloppy achievements while young, but once they graduate or not even finish college they become world beaters.

Singapore, China, Korea, etc dominate while young, but fade away.

America has a unique ability to allow people to find their own way and succeed.
