Florida deputies arrested 266 people in a six-day undercover sting targeting alleged human traffickers, child predators and illegal immigrants.
Sheriff Grady Judd announced the results of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office’s (PCSO) six-day operation “Polk Around and Find Out” during a Friday press conference. He announced 247 arrests connected to human trafficking. Officials previously said there were 19 more apprehensions connected to child sexual predators. Of the 247 trafficking-related apprehensions, 34 are in the U.S. illegally and 22 were receiving public benefits totaling more than $15,000 per month, according to the PCSO, FOX 13 reported, citing the PCSO.
Those taken into custody carried a combined 1,028 prior criminal charges, and investigators piled on 439 new ones, according to the Judd. Suspects traveled from 11 states and 18 countries, and 35 were married, the sheriff continued. Four suspects carried firearms to the sting location, according to Judd.

Bartow in the house!
‘...receiving public benefits totaling more than $15,000 per month’
huh? i never earned that much my entire career working as an engineer.
no wonder they drive Bentleys and Mazeratis.
Grady Judd is totally “The Man”.
Grady Judd is totally “The Man”.
He is! I saw a video where his deputies were chasing a suspect and finally caught him. The perp told the deputy, “At least I’m not in Polk County”. The deputy replied, “You crossed into Polk County about a mile back”.
LOL!
Brimming with tons of dry humor - always.
22 people receiving $15,000 per month.
Just Whut are the details of Dat?
Jao BiXiden needs to know.
Kidnapped kids? I can’t even imagine what families go through.
Typically YUGELY better than the “Bee”....
ah so, you read it as 15,000/22 so about $700 per criminal alien per month? makes a little better sense. it beggars belief that our bureaucrats are that blind to fraud as to give away 15 grand per person, but then again.... even so, it still rankles me as a tax payer.
Represent, FRiend! I say this as a former resident of Winter Haven (as a child), but with ties to the area. My father grew up there, we lived there for a few years, and my brother lived there with his family until he passed few years ago. His family is still there.
Like someone mentioned, every county needs a Sheriff Grady Judd. Every county in the USA.
Sheriff Judd is great but how are the prosecutors and judges in Polk County? Lenient judgs and prosecutors are huge weaknesses in our justice system.
I know someone will say that no one teaches their boys to live like this. However, if we're going to flood young boys with sexual images and the idea that their manhood is defined by how many women they stick it into, things that we protect girls from for good reason, what do we think is going to happen?
Cool. My brother actually lives in winter haven currently, mom is still in the house we bought in Bartow when my dad retired from the navy. He was born and raised in Bartow, his parents having moved there in the 20s from the Missouri Ozarks. My grandfather was a real renaissance man; built their cracker house on Vine street, had a metal and body shop, and was a Methodist pastor. Grandma was head nurse at Bartow Memorial Hospital till her 70s, and passed at 86. So did my father, sane age. Hope they passed those genes to me, so far so good.
Considering that Bartow is the county seat, I can assure you that, although not judge Roy Bean, they do serve justice there. The only thing we catch and release in Polk county is largemouth.
Divided by 22 is 681 each per month.
Divided by 160 hours for a 40-hour week is 4.23 an hour.
Most likely as an engineer you can do math.
well thanks for writing your ‘answer’ out. the teachers gave you all A’s for sure.
