A DoorDash driver shot and killed a suspect who shot and injured him during an attempted carjacking at Walgreens in Berry Hill Saturday afternoon, according to Metro Nashville Police Department Public Information Office Don Aaron.
Officers responded to the Walgreens in the 2600 block of 8th Avenue South just before 1 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived on scene, they found two gunshot victims.
Aaron said the preliminary investigation into the shooting shows that a DoorDash delivery driver pulled into the Walgreens parking lot before walking to the Chick-fil-a next door to pick up an order.
As the DoorDasher was returning to his car, he was approached by an armed suspect who reportedly was attempting to carjack the DoorDasher.
The alleged carjacker gets into the DoorDasher’s car as the DoorDasher pulls out a gun as well.
Aaron said the suspect then shot the DoorDasher, hitting him in the leg. The DoorDasher returned fire, fatally shooting the suspect, who was in the DoorDasher’s car attempting to drive away from the scene.
The DoorDasher was taken to an area hospital to be treated and is expected to be okay.
Aaron said the investigation is ongoing. He did not say if charges would be filed against the DoorDash driver.

Officials have the victims testimony and video so likely a self defense homicide and no charges. Don't think he'll be a door dash driver going forward however...
I wonder if DoorDash will fire the driver for this.
Shooting carjackers should get one a medal and a new gun.

I wonder if this guy will sue DoorDash and make a nice haul, for what he’s gone through.

Some cons leave their last meal on the seat next to them in the car they carjacked.
