The U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily blocked an injunction Wednesday that prevented federal immigration officers from retaliating against demonstrators.
A Friday ruling by U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez had prevented the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement from detaining or tear gassing people who are engaging in peaceful and unobstructive protest, including observing Operation Metro Surge, which is the feds’ name for the incursion of over 3,000 immigration officers and agents in the Twin Cities.
The Wednesday decision granted Homeland Security its request for an administrative stay of Friday’s preliminary injunction. Ten of the 11 judges in the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, which granted the stay, were appointed by Republican presidents, including four judges appointed by President Donald Trump.

More ICE please!
Amendment I gives “the right of the people peaceably to assemble” Not protest violently and destroy things.
Lots more!
Correct!
Retaliation!
That’s rich.
It’s called Law Enforcement.
Just a “pause”?
So nonlethal rubber bullets and non lethal gas is so harsh they only “pause” the ruling against them?
We are holding back from the Iranian way. Nobody thanks us for sparing the little law breaking woke scumbags with our non lethal means. We have to ask permission for a pause.
U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez appointed by Biden. The author forgot to mention it...
I guess I missed the instance where ICE deployed tear gas against “peaceful” protestors not impeding law enforcement of blocking traffic.
"Amendment I gives “the right of the people peaceably to assemble” Not protest violently and destroy things."
Today in Minneapolistan Greg Bovino and other ICE agents stopped at a Speedway convenience store. They were kicked out. Lot of Speedways here. They are owned by 7-11.
"The author forgot to mention it..."
“The Minnesota Reformer.” Now, if I took a wild guess, I’d say this is the name of a leftist rag.
THE DICTIONARY I OWN DOES RECOGNIZE THIS BEHAVIOR AS “PEACEFUL”.
They sure like to use the wrong words.
Law enforcement has no reason to deploy tear gas on a “peaceful protester” in the first place. The question is moot.
Blocking a road is not a legitimate form protesting, nor burning, looting, assault, etc. Words mean things. They act like they don’t understand this, but they do, to try and normalize violence.
Yes!!!
“the right of the people peaceably to assemble”... Not protest violently and destroy things.”
Retaliation?
They’re defending themselves
