I think the administration got caught flat footed in Iran. They moved all the assets to South America, and never saw Iran coming. Now it’s going to take a week to get all the pieces back together.

I am reminded of the Russians waiting outside of Warsaw, letting all of the leaders of the resistance get killed…and then coming in to liberate Poland from the Nazis. It certainly made ruling them easier in the post war era.

The key term is ‘for now’. It’s timing. Everyone over there (and here) needs to see and find out for themselves for it to stick in their memory. A knee-jerk reaction against the regime will gain sympathy and give everyone another excuse to condemn the US.
The very fact of his threat has been deterring Iran, at least until recently. If he can delay actually doing anything and in the interim the regime collapses completely, partially because of the threat, and partially because that threat has emboldened the Iranians, that’s the best of both worlds.
I can’t wait until that Ayatollah is done.
Very good. He might be doing the same with our friends in Europe regarding Greenland. Maduro is gone with a surgical strike-no invasion. Could Israel force down a plane with an escaping Ayatollah on board? Capture him and put him on trial a la Saddam? It would go a long way to expose what tyrannical regimes do. We’re on a roll. Too bad the folks in Minnesota won’t learn before November.
