Not all “civil” behavior is harmless. Some actions, cloaked in sophistication or authority, can be far more destructive than overtly crude ones.

From Donald Trump’s press interactions to the actions of journalists, university leaders, and political officials, Victor Davis Hanson distinguishes between crass and refined crudity—showing how the latter misleads the public under the guise of authority or expertise—on today’s episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In a Few Words.”

“No need to call Jasmine Crockett a low-IQ person or a reporter dumb or stupid or fatty. And I would call that crass crudity. And it's something that Trump does and probably should not do, and people have probably reminded him of that. But there's another type of crudity, I would call that crudity refined crudity. Crass crudity is openly overt, transparent, and condemned. But it's also rhetorical.

It doesn't affect policies. It's the ways one reacts to criticism in Trump's case.

But what is refined crudity? I wanna tell you, give you some examples, very different examples of what I would call refined crudity.”

I don’t want to have to bother with sorting through what is either refined or crass crudity. There is no “Master Class” on the subject that I can’t afford to skip. F*ck that noise!

"I don’t want to have to bother with sorting through what is either refined or crass crudity."

The details is where the progressives always win. Progressives don't stop and say "I don't want to".

One of the Democrats’ most cherished strategies is inveigling losers, morons, and parasites to believe that they are not losers, morons, and parasites.

Trump is a good person, a good man. He may tell truths that many would prefer not to hear spoken, yet it’s better than someone telling lies and when called on their lying, they retort with name calling & innuendo such as “you’re a racist” more lie telling, etc. There has been so much pathetic pacificating speech spoken to hostile nations that they begin to feel confident in their belief of the superiority of their violent antiquated and destructive ideas because they have no respect for those who verbally elevate their inferiorities as equal to our strengths. No the only strength they need is to bow down to our strong leaders and learn to let go of what’s antiquated and become god fearing respectable 21st century beings who value the need for themselves to evolve and live fairly in the modern world.
