He used to be a Democrat, just like Trump and Reagan, and Musk wants him there, that's what counts.
SpaceX basically is by far the biggest most powerful space company in America,

It makes a difference when someone was a democrat, you threw in Reagan who last voted for for a democrat president in 1948, Truman, back in the days when Texas voted democrat, which hardly fits in with the modern democrat party.

“It makes a difference when someone was a democrat,”

Trump, Reagan, Musk were all Democrats before. Musk even voted for Obama.
They became the strongest Republicans.
Doubt if Trump would have won without the backing of Musk.
Its not what you were before.
Its what you become in life that matters.
I'd back Jared Isaacman over almost anyone for NASA chief.

When one had to chose between being a democrat and being a Bush/Pence/Cheney style so-called Republican or maybe a Ryan style fake conservative I cannot fault a man for his choice. They were all very bad choices and all of the leaders deserve to rot in hell for 1000 years before they are retried and sentenced to another 1000 years in hell.

Has NASA ever had a Director who actually was in space before?

Grok:

Richard H. Truly (Administrator from 1989–1992): A former NASA astronaut who flew on two early Space Shuttle missions (STS-2 in 1981 and STS-8 in 1983). He was the first astronaut to serve as NASA Administrator.

Charles F. Bolden Jr. (Administrator from 2009–2017): A former NASA astronaut who completed four Space Shuttle flights (STS-61-C in 1986, STS-31 in 1990, STS-45 in 1992, and STS-60 in 1994), piloting two and commanding two.

Bill Nelson (Administrator from 2021–2025): Flew to space as a payload specialist on Space Shuttle mission STS-61-C in 1986 (before becoming a U.S. Senator and later Administrator).

Well, it is obvious the democrats want to hand over the reins of power to the Chinese, so we will have Musk there to watch him. Musk does business with the Chinese but there is no evidence he thinks like the democrats. Hard to imagine he would want to turn NASA into a Muslim outreach program.

The man does have an excellent lists of accomplishments. NASA had that soft headed former astronaut, former democrat senator as its head a bit too long.

Cool. After I hit enter I thought I remembered that there was one. I was probably thinking of Nelson

I am hoping for the best. I think this was the trade off for Trump and Elon reconciling. Now Elon is being a bit more helpful.

When dealing with the democrat supporting argument you can leave WWII democrats out of it, throwing in Reagan has nothing to do with the issue being raised, it just doesn’t fit into the discussion or the argument, or the reasoning.

Jared Isaacman@rookisaacman Nov 4

Thank you, Mr. President @POTUS, for this opportunity. It will be an honor to serve my country under your leadership. I am also very grateful to @SecDuffy, who skillfully oversees @NASA alongside his many other responsibilities.

The support from the space-loving community has been overwhelming. I am not sure how I earned the trust of so many, but I will do everything I can to live up to those expectations.

To the innovators building the orbital economy, to the scientists pursuing breakthrough discoveries and to dreamers across the world eager for a return to the Moon and the grand journey beyond—these are the most exciting times since the dawn of the space age— and I truly believe the future we have all been waiting for will soon become reality.

And to the best and brightest at NASA, and to all the commercial and international partners, we have an extraordinary responsibility—but the clock is running. The journey is never easy, but it is time to inspire the world once again to achieve the near-impossible—to undertake and accomplish big, bold endeavors in space...and when we do, we will make life better here at home and challenge the next generation to go even further.

NASA will never be a caretaker of history—but will forever make history.

Godspeed, President Donald J. Trump, and Godspeed NASA, as America leads the greatest adventure in human history 🇺🇸

Jared Isaacman@rookisaacman

Dec 4, 2024
Replying to @realDonaldTrump
I am honored to receive President Trump’s@realDonaldTrump nomination to serve as the next Administrator of NASA. Having been fortunate to see our amazing planet from space, I am passionate about America leading the most incredible adventure in human history.

On my last mission to space, my crew and I traveled farther from Earth than anyone in over half a century. I can confidently say this second space age has only just begun. Space holds unparalleled potential for breakthroughs in manufacturing, biotechnology, mining, and perhaps even pathways to new sources of energy. There will inevitably be a thriving space economy—one that will create opportunities for countless people to live and work in space. At NASA, we will passionately pursue these possibilities and usher in an era where humanity becomes a true spacefaring civilization.

I was born after the Moon landings; my children were born after the final space shuttle launch. With the support of President Trump, I can promise you this: We will never again lose our ability to journey to the stars and never settle for second place. We will inspire children, yours and mine, to look up and dream of what is possible. Americans will walk on the Moon and Mars and in doing so, we will make life better here on Earth.

It is the honor of a lifetime to serve in this role and to work alongside NASA’s extraordinary team to realize our shared dreams of exploration and discovery.

Grateful to serve, Jared

It has everything to do with who is best qualified to lead NASA right now.
Is Jared very qualified for the job?
Yup.
Does he bring a former Democrat disqualify him?
Nope.
Not any more than Musk himself being a former Obama voting Democrat stop him from campaigning all out for Trump and helping Trump win.
Not sure what your complaint is. Your post just doesn't make much sense.
