I guess I’m callous or bloodthirsty or something. Because I say give Hegseth a medal. We have had more Americans killed by imported narcotics than all our wars. I say kill all the narcos we can find and I just don’t understand this passive weakness my country has developed. Like a supine, cowardly dog showing its belly. IMG-1802

“Yeah, but it does. “

The you won’t complain when the next Democratic President uses A.I. to filter pictures and videos and identify anyone who as ever worn a red hat and being potentially part of the MAGA terrorist group. Why are they terrorists? well the President said so and that makes it true and puts them on the fast track for drone strikes.

Are you sure we're not out of step with public opinion on this one?

Who's "we"? You're not a Conservative. A liberdopian perhaps.

> Buried at the bottom of the article is Hegseth’s denial that he issued such an order, calling it fake news. <

Your post is the most important one on this thread. This “second strike” story looks like a smear job.

“I’m a citizen, I actually have rights.”

You have the right to spend as much as you can afford on a lawyer to try to say your rights were violated, years after the fact.

Maybe we should have given them sanitary napkins and cookies.

Unfortunately, yes. Believe me, when I was giving the law of armed conflict briefings as a young JAG I got that question all the time. And I hated the answer. I also hated briefing the ROEs, because they tied one hand behind the backs of the operators.

Don't make me laugh. You're pathetic.

This entire controversy is fake

The arguable legal requirents for rescuing pirates are in 46 U.S.C. § 2304 and the SOLAS treaty. Both exempt ships of war. Period.

And under customary, ancient maritime law going back centuries, pirates (and therefore narco-terrorists...) are the common enemies of mankind to whom no duty is owed. They can legally be killed at will.

“Geneva rights as POWs”

This would require an actual declaration of war

That may be your way, probably explains why you support these floating turds.

What concerns me is this haphazard, unlawful, effort is guaranteed to come back and bite the USA in the ass. There’s a good reason to keep international sea areas neutral. But a bunch of short term thinkers are hard at work and we will all pay the price for it in the end.

Really, so the US didn't treat Koreans, Vietnamese, Iraqis Taliban, etc as POWs? No declaration then. Read LOAC first, short and will answer your questions.

Do you really think the American people care about 2 drug dealers who are delivering poison to America to kill our kids?

This American cares. I care that we're blowing up a bunch of enemies that we might get valuable intelligence from if they were captured. How much do we know about the flow of fentanyl in Venezuela? From production site through shipping to the loading on the boats? Who the players are? If we capture the right people, we might be able to sweat some good info out of them. Even low-level people overhear things.

If they survive, dump them unceremoniously back on shore and forget we ever encountered them.

Meanwhile, get back to the main mission: Sinking drug-laden speedboats.
