Is Rudeness a Crime? In Florida, Christians Face Felony Charges for Disrupting Muslim Prayer
PJ Media ^ | 07/26/25 | Robert Spencer

Wait, is being rude a felony now?

Apparently it is, at least in (of all places) Florida. The New York Post reported Saturday that “three men stormed a University of South Florida parking garage and harassed Muslim students during dawn prayer on Tuesday — an incident captured in videos that showed the group shouting slurs, waving bacon and crowding worshipers as they bowed.” For that “all three face a felony count of disturbing schools and religious assemblies under Florida’s hate-crime enhancement statute, along with misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and disrupting a school or lawful assembly.”

Wait a minute. They said insulting words, waved bacon around, and got too close to the Muslims, and for that they’re facing felony charges? Yes, and it gets worse. The Post notes that “the charges followed a multi-day investigation sparked by footage showing the men approaching students during fajr prayer on the roof of the Collins Boulevard Parking Garage.”

Fajr is one of Islam’s five daily prayers and takes place in the early morning, as soon as a white thread can be distinguished from a black thread in natural light. The Post doesn’t bother to explain why the Muslim students were praying this prayer in a parking garage. Nor does it explain how the three men who are now facing felony charges happened to be in the same parking garage at a time of day when not many people are up and about.

“ Apparently it is, at least in (of all places) Florida.”

What does this mean?

“It can’t happen here” is very very ignorant

Muslims are the newest sacred objects of the Democratic Party.

We're not as far gone as western Europe, but it's the same disease.

Disturbing the peace? Maybe. Felony....no bleeping way! If it goes to trial I hope the jurors know about “jury nullification”. And I hope that the jurors are allowed to remain anonymous because they'd be in serious danger if they return the “wrong” verdict.

Only Christians and Jews can be harassed. Didn’t they get the memo?

Yep. An anti-blasphemy law signed by Governor DeSantis, mostly as a response to the crazy antisemitism that was happening all over college campuses across the country.

A shameful embarrassment to what is otherwise an unblemished tenure as the best governor in the country.

You’d better not be. That’s fine would be a gigantic mistake.

This doesn’t stop. It spreads and sets in. Wise up

DeSantis has some kind of sway over people. It’s a mistake to buy it but no he is not going to stop this any more than the Texans will. They’ve given away Dallas.

This was in Tampa. The Tampa/St Petersburg area is a blue hive in a red state. I would not be surprised if the prosecutor has Soros ties.

Not a smooth move against the Islamic people. Didn’t realize a parking garage is a church? I guess Christians can now hold prayer services in parking garages of public universities.

If we start making “being a stupid jackass” illegal then most Democrats should be in jail.

Maybe if the three students had yelled allahu akbar and shot a few muslims in the head then it would have been more politically PC. /s

The entire judiciary is tied

You can marginalize it all you want but it’s a mistake to underestimate it

There will be no assimilation to American culture.

Visit one of these countiris. See if you enjoy the 5 times per day call. Then imagine it in a “desanctimonious-protected blue city moving out into the sanctified suburbs

The young people in our country taking the helm don’t care enough about their own culture to stop it

Even the sanctified desantis will be gone sooner than anticipated. Next year I think.

What if Christians take their speakers and sing praises to loud Christian music while this is going on? Is that freedom of expression? I say fight fire with songs, hymns, spiritual songs atleast 5 time a day every day at the same time as Muslims do their evil.
