If they don’t get the 60, recess until January.
To: Baladas
If elections can be decided by a simple majority, then decisions in congress should be decided the same way.
Majority wins. Republicans have the majority votes.
At some point, people will realize that, it is republicans who are keeping the government shut down. That 60 vote requirement is nonsense. Democrats would no wait for 60 votes to decide for them, and neither should republicans.

"was a great discussion, and we’re unified that we want to bring down health care costs,” Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) said."
One does not bring down costs by subsidizing them. Never has happened in history,Tammy. Please explain how so?

And so you would suggest attacking Dems until they say "give".
What should Thune be doing?? Groveling??
This is ALL on the Dems.
To: Baladas
ACA subsidies need to pass. It’s the only reason some people have health insurance. Otherwise, the Democrats will expand Medicaid.

I don’t think you understand the purpose of the Senate. Or the reasons for the 60 vote cloture vote.
And if all of the Republicans are voting to open the government…how are they keeping it closed? By not allowing amendments to the bill that have not gone through the budget process?
And really, aside from not seeing the Astronomy picture of the day…I havent really noticed the government hasn’t been working.

That's not how Tammy or democrats think.
Subsidizing to them means lowering the cost or price to the recipients or buyers. The prices of goods and services do not have to come down, in order for democrats to say that they 'lowered the costs'. Its a winner argument for them with their constituents.
Mamdani is doing the same, and with 'free food, and free transportation', he's bringing down the costs to those that live in NYC. Food and transportation did not come down in prices, but the consumers do not care, since it's being paid by 'government'. It takes a while for the consequences of that kind of stupid thinking is felt. Meanwhile, the voters will continue to believe that democrats/socialists, have their best interests in mind. Republicans can't compete against that kind of stupid policy or thinking.

I know the purpose and I know about the 60 vote reasoning.
But, if democrats will pass any bill they deem necessary with just a simple majority, the rules of the game don't matter anymore.
Trump has said the same thing I'm saying. Go with a simple majority. Democrats would have done it by now, if they were in charge.

That’s the reason I don’t have insurance. I couldn’t afford it anymore after Obamacare passed.

I havent really noticed the government hasn’t been working.
SNAP payments not going out. Airliners cancelling thousands of flights. Other services being curtailed.
Nope. No consequences at all.

You don’t have to end the filibuster, you have to make them do it—stand there and talk your fool head off until you drop. Thats how it used to be done, and it didn’t go on for months of holding poor peoples’ breath until they turn blue.
To: Baladas
Same here I do not like the sound of this. It reeks of sell out.

But she supported Obamacare. Eat it Tammy.
