The short version is that there are a bunch of strong storms moving across the northern Pacific in the coming week, going into mostly southern Alaska and northern BC, but they will inevitably impact the U.S. Pacific Northwest as well.
There are also large areas of extra warm water north of Hawaii, all the way east to the pacific coast.
Warm ocean by Japan —> Typhoons —> clobber Alaska —> storms hit PNW & CA.
Aka, fall —> winter
Droughts end. Skiers happy.
With that huge high pressure dome on top of us, we’ll get none of it.
Maybe Saturday, it begins the retreat.
