Great post!

People forget that Paul was instrumental in killing Christians and taking Delight in it. Then after the encounter on Damascus Road, he became the greatest Christian evangelist of all time. Let’s hope for a similar turnaround with Tyler Robinson while in prison.

I can’t imagine the hell he’s going through right now sitting in isolation in a barren cell in his turtle suit. He will be on suicide watch indefinitely. He has got to be thinking, gee maybe this wasn’t such a great idea after all.

On the other hand....... Maybe not.

In states like Utah the a guy on death row will outlive me.
Had the man been charged with violation of Federal law,
He would be gone shortly, if convicted.

Utah’s death penalty can only be applied for aggravated murder, and Utah has specific requirements that have to be met in order to be convicted of aggravated murder. It’s not clear that the Kirk assassination meets all of those requirements.

The Federal death penalty might be an easier reach, assuming that an appropriate Federal statute can be identified. If a conspiracy that crossed state lines, could be demonstrated then the Feds would have a pretty solid argument for prosecuting, and the path to a death sentence would be easier (and possibly quicker).

I wonder how many on this forum will die or old age before they ever execute this guy.

There's always the chance that he will plead guilty and regard the death penalty as a relief from a future of incarceration and vilification, even if in the improbable best case he is only sentenced to 25 years. Given the multiple counts, it's unlikely he is facing any sentence shorter than life with no possibility of parole.

In view that he already considered suicide, his best course of action is to repent, seek understanding of why his actions were not only a crime, but a grave sin, and let the Holy Spirit guide him and his family as to what course of action to take and how to plead.

The prosecution faces a very difficult challenge of finding a venue and an impartial jury panel, in a case publicized worldwide.

It's a challenge nowadays to find an honest impartial judge let alone an entire jury. Even if the suspect admits everything, like Robinson did. This is a case that screams for quick justice. But that won't happen. Too many people want to get face time, famous, wealthy/lawyers want it for selling books, launch political careers etc.
