No shame - “far right to honor Charlie”. Their continued marginalization no longer works. These folks in London have nothing to do with the “far right”.

In mainstream media, the term “far right” is often applied to anything that doesn’t align with the radical left. For that reason, it doesn’t bother me. If “far right” simply means not being part of the radical left, then I’m fine with it.

I agree. I clicked through to the YouTube live stream and had the same reaction. Just normal people.
A lot of the folks attending are probably looking around and thinking "holy cow, I am not alone".
I am surprised YouTube is even carrying the feed and the crowd has not been infiltrated by troublemakers.
The timing of the rally is also good. President Trump and First Lady Melania will be visiting the UK for a State Visit from September 17 through 19.
They just showed live drone footage of the crowd. It is enormous!

...and days after Charlie’s murder, weeks after he was there talking about free speech. There’s a huge vigil going on there.
The UK voted for Brexit and has been paying for that ever since.

They were around 150.000. Quite massive.
It’s usually not part of Anglo-Saxon tradition to gather large crowds, so what they did is truly historic.
Since I never trust any media, I used this online crowd-calculator.
I made a rough outline of the area and got about 80.000 people, but I could have outlined further. You can continue to fine-tune the pre-marked dots I put, and you will surely come to the estimate of +100.000 people. It seems fair. And it’s a lot.
