Top White House officials are in talks over a potential job for Eric Adams in President Trump’s administration — as pressure mounts for mayoral candidates to drop out and clear the lane for the strongest challenger against socialist Zohran Mamdani, The Post has learned. The conversations about a potential plum gig for Adams have been taking place among high-level Trump officials, but it’s unclear if they have reached the president’s desk, sources said.

“I think Adams would be able to craft a position and a portfolio that’s to his liking,” a source close to Trump’s administration said. “I’ve heard the Adams team wants it,” another source close to the White House said.

SNIP

He mounted an independent bid after he and big donors unsuccessfully pushed to get Sliwa a Trump administration job — a move that would’ve helped Adams sew up the Republican Party line in the general election, sources have said. Sliwa had indeed refused a job offer from the administration, one source said.

“He can have any ambassadorship he wants,” a source close to Adams boasted.

This article snippet leaves me quite confused. Is Eric Adams being pushed as a NYC mayoral candidate, or Curtis Sliwa? Did Curtis Sliwa turn down an offered position in the Trump administration? Is this a crushing blow for Mamdani?

Not sure why Trump wants to save New Yorker City folk who would set him on fire if they could, from themselves. He’s a better man than I because I would wish Mandami on my worst enemies. Same with Chicago. Let them stew in their beloved crime.

Talking with President Trump would kill his campaign.

Mamdami the Commie is unstoppable, IMHO. The parasite class want him, and they have more collective voting power than the normal New Yorkers.

“sources” ... no need to read any further ... but whatever the “sources” claim is total bullshit ... why in the world would Donald Trump try to save NYC Democrats from themselves? ... the best thing that could happen is for those fools to elect a wealthy marxist Mooselimb and suffer the consequences ...

[please note: i have a conflict of interest in the above statement because i’ve invested heavily in popcorn futures.]

I think Trump still owns a lot of real estate in NYC.

Trump is a native New Yorker. Born & bred in NYC. Made most of his fortune there. Fond memories and continuing business interests.

I could see Erik Adams in charge of the National Guard units sent into Chicago to reduce crime. He’s got the background for that.

I think the administration should stay out of it and Let NYC fall victim to itself by voting the commie in. Last election, the city tried to bury Trump with phony criminal convictions, lawsuits, trying to bankrupt him and taking his businesses Nationlly,Mahndamis election would be politically advantageous to Republicans by further identifying Democrats with the public as the nutjob party. No need to toss them a life preserver.
