The department said it was looking for indicators of ineligibility, including visa overstays, criminal activity, threats to public safety, engaging in any form of terrorist activity, or providing support to a terrorist organization.
"We review all available information as part of our vetting, including law enforcement or immigration records or any other information that comes to light after visa issuance indicating

Overstays…like the 9/11 perpetrators.
I have a dream.
Back when we were building the Alaska pipeline the Alaskans would say, “Happiness is 10,000 Okies headed South with a Texan under each arm.”
We need a lot more than 10,000 mesicans headed South and they would have to carry a lot more than two Central Americans and others. I dream that they would all leave and sooner than later but it will take more than one well meaning term.
I also hope enough people realize just how much damage the democraps have done and hate them enough to vote for someone else. After that I hope the repooblicans will not wander too far from a good plan.
55 MILLION?! I have some knowlege of facts regarding our nation, but this number is stunning. I had no idea 55 million people were here on visas.
How the F do we have 55 million people here on visas? That’s about one in six!
55 million visas?! There’s the problem right there. They need to cancel all the ridiculous 10 year visas...people on these enter and never leave within the 6 month period, or leave for a day to Canada or Mexico and return, thereby making them defacto residents.
When I first heard this story...I thought they might be equating the green-card as a visa, but no, it’s not that way.
So these are work-visas, student/study-visas and immigration visas (converting over to green-cards later).
I would imagine if you dig through this...at least 25-percent of the 55-million are student visas, and half of them are over-stay situation (where they finished the degree and found work).
But I’m suspecting at least 5-million of the ‘open-visas’ are crappy book-keeping...where the kid finished school, and left the US. If they come to admit 5-to-10 million are empty situations where the guy left...the state department has a mess to clean up.
Shouldn’t the US have already been doing this thoroughly and continuously all the time anyway? Why the ? Deliberate laziness of not doing it apparently?
I call bullshit exaggeration on this number.
Now as I recall, I used to work with a lady who was from Canada and I recall her mentioning that she had come here from Canada to work on a visa and simply stayed, never bothering to go back to US ommigration and renew or follow up on anything and no one ever followed up with her. She’s still here i believe, married, 3 kids, retired and now widowed, more than 45 yrs later. F that. I’m calling ICE tomorrow on her, because ‘Merica. She can finish her “retirement: in jail then back in Quebec.
I wonder if there is rewards for calling 1 800 RAT FINK on her? Some top round steak bought with that reward money would taste mighty good.
This is probably the first time, any such review has ever taken place. It will be interesting to see what the results are.
55 million Visas & they all count in the Census.
What % of them cast votes, or have votes cast for them?
It’s going to be funny....if out of the 55-million...20-percent are simply Canadians from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, etc...who over-stayed. So the 10-million get sent ‘home’ and Canada has to admit they don’t have homes for them.
I tire of the superiority voiced by Canadians and Europeans who provide social services to their citizens on our dime byvunderfunding their own defence and then ragging on the US who defends them for free so they can yell at us for being uncaring. F*ck them and their hypocrite double standards.
Amen.
They need to review those who received green cards under the Biden admin. They gave out green cards to those who were in violation of their visas and never even met with immigrations. No doubt there were flaws in the vetting process . The Biden admin must have been spitting out green cards as fast as they could. So, I hope they run a check and go back 2-3 years and look for violations before the GC’s were issued.
“... all U.S. visa holders are subject to “continuous vetting” with an eye toward any indication that they could be ineligible for the document.”
This should normally be the case. However you are probably right.
“She’s still here i believe, married, 3 kids, retired and now widowed, more than 45 yrs later.”
When I say I have been wanting this type of aggressive immigration law enforcement for over 40 years, you can believe it!
